Advice for a prospective NSer

My little cousin who's really into skiing wants to join up NS. He's been reading a lot of the posts and understands the concept of the site. I just thought if anyone had advice for him please share it. I told him he should be thick skinned, and try and contribute to conversations. What am I forgetting? Good vibes and +k for answers

Tell him to start a thread any time he has a thought, post lots of tits, ignore any sort of logic, and most importantly, model himself after poems.
