Just because he is realistic in his evaluation of his experience with the binding does not make him wrong. They have a cult following and are therefore more prone to fanboys not wanting to say anything bad about them. This is normal, but the fact is I've seen just as many "FKS Broken, Need Help!" threads as there are "Griffons Suck, Need Help" threads.
Having said this, both are common bindings for freeskiing nowadays so with more people owning them, there will be more cases of things going wrong regardless of which binding is superior.
Also, I don't know where people get the idea that it actually protects the knees that much more because I think that is mainly a rumor that has been perpetuated on this site.
