add adblock, it fucking installs itself immediately and it works. i am now a happy camper and you will be too if you get this shit. more people have to know about this so der you go, repost or not. i'm sure some people will benefit from this as i just did.

Sweet... bring down the business model of the internet.

Using adblock will erect paywalls, or us people who do business will just die.

So install adblock and contribute to the idea of newschoolers becoming a pay site.

That doesn't sound good does it?

i see a lot of donator icons at the left side of the screen.

and if funding is really a problem, maybe tell jon olsson to pass on his next million dollar car and settle for the $950,000 one so he can make a donation help keep the freeskiing community together.

Donators surely do not help keep the site up and running. Ads are where nearly all of the money comes from. Its not like there are 100's of new donators every month.

Ads are purchased based on number of impressions, which is the number of times an ad is actually displayed on a page. This like adblocker prevent the ads from being displayed, and therefore eliminates those impressions and their payout.

We do our very best to make sure the advertising on the site relevant, especially in the winter making sure we stack everything we can with ski related brands. In the summer when fewer companies are buying we do have some more generic stuff coming through, but even that we try to keep trimmed, removing all those BS flashing smiley and "You are the 1,000,000th Winner" banners.

Why does google even let you use an ad blocker? it seems like they run a lot of the advertising on the internet. I'm always seeing 'ads by google' all over the place.

And a completely inaccurate one at that.

Advertisements are a necessary evil when it comes to sustaining free-access websites. Donations are great and hugely appreciated and help further fuel revenue generation, but for the site to continue evolving and to be able to continue to be a relevant part of freeskiing, ads are needed.

hey i fixed everyone's problem, lol. get adblock plus, it's free too. and then click it when you are on newschoolers, and hit disable on this domain, that means whenever you are on any newschoolers page, it will show ads, so then you guys will be happy, but on every other website it will hide ads.
