would you ever change your whole perspective on life if you had the chance. being able to professionaly ski during your teenage years in exchange for life itself.

it's Teenage Zero....
I would sell my soul to the devil to be a pro. But than again I wouldn't.....being a pro is something you have to earn....so no I wouldn't. I would sell my soul to be able to ski every day though.

dont get me wrong skiing is probably one of the greatest things on earth, if not the greatest but i would not give my life up early to be a pro skier at a young age. Cause there is so much besides skiing that needs to be experianced, like girls and risks that are the biggest rush. You dont need to be pro to enjoy skiing all that is needed is to have fun while skiing and your as good as being a pro. If you just have fun, love the sport, and do it as much as possible what more is there to ask besides a hot girlfriend. If you enjoy life and do this pro skiing will come to you later in life.

As most of you probably know already, i am a racer/coach as well. I've raced for 13 years, the last two of which i was on the Northern Ontario Team and i pretty much gave up my life for skiing. Either i was out of town for weeks at a time, or i was at home but so tired from skiing so much that i didn't want to do anything. In retrospec it was lots of fun, but at the time i didn't really think so and i was always thinking about what i was missing at home.
That's what probably stopped me from going further.

I've given my whole life up for the dream of being pro.
Lost my girlfriend, am broke, my friends don't know how to talk to me anymore.
It's not worth it kids.
Unless I make it...
'Who ordered the turkey club?' the waitress yelled across the small diner.
'I did!' The man excitedly replied.
Promptly, an over-excited turkey ran out from the back and beat the man to death with a large wooden bat.

while I don't go for the pro skiers side of the sport I have given my life to the sport. I work my ass off everyday all year round for this sport. if it's filming, planing competitions, editing movies and whatever else I can do for it. I'm just starting to really make a name for myself so it's sweet. I have experianced the tearing apart from my friends and what not but you also do meet a ton of new people. Right now I'm doing good but hopefully by the time I'm out of HS I'll be making some money and not be broke like I am now.

Thats the dumbest question ive ever heard, although all i think about is skiing there is now way i would give up my life for it. As hard as it is to say there is more to life than skiing.

midwest skier dude I hope to make it out to MI this season at least once. I'm pretty sure I'll be there for the post season thing, I doubt on skis but will be there filming and shooting some stills I'm sure. I might be there earlier in the season but I wouldn't count on it. There are alot of things I need to work out before the new year. If you make it to MS02 track me down and give me a whats up, same goes for boyne summer jam deal. Lates

hey doug, i still know how to talk to you...but you were probably refering to your non-skiing friends back in London or whatever. And both you and I know that I'll probably end up just like you when I'm done school this year, a poor ski bum stuck in Ontario for eternity...
