You know, just because a sport isn't practiced in the U.S doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a spot in the Olympics.
Following your logic, I could say that Baseball doesn't deserve to be an Olympic sport since I've never met in my entire life someone who actually played baseball.
You should realize the world is bigger than the U.S, especially when it comes to the Olympics, you obviously do not understand what the Olympics are all about.
Once every four years, these people get to show the world their sport, and they're giving everything they've got for this event, and that's amazing, no matter how many people actually practice the sport.
And for your information Handball is quite popular in Europe and Asia, over 30 millions people play it regularly.
