that's not even the main issue in my opinion. when the kick was taken it went straight for a Canadian player hitting her arm. She was close enough where there was no time for her to readjust to not get a hand ball and not directly in front of the kick where you'd expect that to happen. refs do not call handball in that situation. she did. while at the other end of the field a US player had a blatant handball in the crease and didn't get called on it. that call is really what led to US tieing it up. although the 6 second one is pretty bullshit too. I bet if I went through the match I could find 4 or 5 times when the Solo held for more than 6 seconds. you can't just not call them all game, or all Olympics for that matter, then decide to call one just when the US needs to get back in the game. then follow it up with a bullshit handball call.
bottom line, US team got really really lucky to win that game it it DID come down to some shabby refereeing which is a terrible way to decide a game.
US fans and players are just trying to be so defensive since they don't like to admit they were outplayed and can be beaten by Canada in a sport Canada has traditionally never been strong in.
oh well. next Olympics I'll be looking forward to US getting wrecked in women's hockey.
We got outplayed. So what? We ended up winning. In the world cup the USA mens team got robbed by the ref in a few games. It happens, it is part of soccer. Everyone will bitch when it is against them but turn a blind eye when it plays in their favor. If you have played soccer you have had a call go your way and decide the game. And you have also had a call go against you and decide the game. It sucks, but it's a part of the game. It always will be. Football has challenges to remove the human error in officiating. Soccer does not and will not.
Hell of a game Canada, it does suck, but get over it. It happens.
American posts damning footage of Canadian player being a fuck, call American either arrogant, fat, or stupid.
Sweet self-help site by the way.
I'm sure your knowledge of the United States is vast and founded in years of experience, but kindly take a lap, maybe continue taking laps until anybody takes Canada seriously.
Back to the topic at hand, the olympics. Enjoy your 11 medals.
I'm not trying to cause a ruckus here, just wanted to point out some bullshit in the soccer game that no one seemed to be paying attention to in this thread, was subsequently called arrogant.
