Alright so recently the opportunity has come up for me to move to Billings with a friend of mine and his brother. I am basically just wondering what the city is like? Is it a good place to live, is there always something to do or is it more of a quiet boring place? How far away are all the ski resorts? Is it fairly easy to find a job there? etc...
Billings is pretty dope. The closest mountain is red lodge and it's less then an hour a way and big sky/moonlight is like 2 1/2 hours away, and for jobs, well I can't find one but I'm only 17 and haven't really tried
Billings does suck compared to all the other towns in Montana. Tons of my friends are from billings and i live in missoula. Been there twice and all i know is i would not want to live there out of other place in montana. But since you live in MN id say go for it ha. Oh yeah just a heads up i hear the cops in Btown are a bunch of Douchers.
I grew up in billings and it definitely isnt a bad place if you find the right people. there is a pretty good bike community and some really fun trails to ride and with the right group of friends, downtown can be fun. The beartooth mountain range is with in 1-2 hours depending on where you go. And honestly these mountain are probably the best in Montana. tones of sick places to camp all the rock climbing/ mountaineering you could ever want and summer skiing. During the winter Red Lodge Mountain is a great little ski area to get your shred on. If they get alot of snow it has some of the best tree skiing around and its rarely crowded.
so yea just find the right people and make good friends and you will have a blast.
Thanks for your help everyone +k to all. I decided that basically if I can get outta my lease here in mn, im gonna make the move. MY friend out there says he loves and its 100x better than here, and i really dont like where i currently am so im gonna go ahead give it a shot.
Will probably end up moving to bozeman after a year to finish up school. So if I dont like billings ill only have to tolerate for a year anyways haah
