I was looking at them this year as a new pair of skis and was wondering how they perform and size up to other options to me like the thalls, le comtes, and ar7. :)

If you spend the majority of your time in the park, get a park specific ski rather than an all mountain ski. The salomon 2012 is an awesome ski but definitely not park specific. Not to say you couldn't shred the park with them, but you'd be better off with something suited to what you're skiing.

pros: easy to turn. good rail ski.
cons: no long term durability. pop is weird.
i personally would look elsewhere.

Would they last me a season and what do you mean by weird?

a season ya maybe. it depends how hard you ride. if you just slide rails easy u will be fine. but if u do disasters, or anything with hard impacts, the edge armor will create cracks that will eventually rip out.
the pop is just different with that particular rocker design, it doesnt load up and pop like a cambered ski. it can pop if you are just right on it, and some of it is personal preference.
there are just a lot better skis out there for the money.

2012's don't have the edge armor suspects do. Edge armor hurt more suspects than it saved...
I love mine. First year skiing park and they took alot of weird hits and were beat up on a few rails. No werid durability issues besides a few topsheet chips which is normal. Good bases to IMO, ran over a rock and just a small slice the length of the ski is the only damage. Was pretty sure I gave the ski a core shot. As far as park goes if you're a smaller guy, they might be a bit heavy being a 91 waist, other then that they're pretty stable on jumps, really stable on rails, and they turn pretty good on hardpack.
8/10 would buy again.

Meh, "Abit" heavier, but not loads. They will be slightly heavier though, the suspects are an 86 waist while the twenty twelves are 91 waist. If you aren't doing future spins, I wouldn't worry too much.

Also more info, this year salomon classified them as a "Backcountry booter ski" in a few look books or something like that, but they're also being called an all mountain ski. They work fine in the park though and there were a few guy's in the jib academy video using them in their initial year. I only weigh 135 pounds aswell so I'm not a big guy, and the ski doesn't hold me back much. Hopefully that helps man!
All times are Eastern (-5)
