I'm a beginner when it comes to taking pictures and filming, I'm looking to upgrade from my gopro to a dslr and was wondering if the Canon T3 is the right camera for me. I'm mostly looking to film skiing and trampoline. If anyone knows anything about this camera or has this camera please shine some light on the subject.
not very well though, i'm fairly sure their video options are more limited than a t2i/etc. and you can have a dslr set up for 1.5k ish, 2 isn't necessary, prices are a guesstimate but 500 ish for a body, 300 for stabilization, 350 for a 17-50, 100 for cards and accessories like a bag, 150 for a rode videomic and boom starter set up.
this 'if you don't have $____ then a dslr isn't for you' is getting way out of hand in my opinion.
you don't need a glidecam right away. you don't need a telephoto, and a wide, and a standard, and a 50mm lens right away. you don't need a videomic right away. guys, don't forget that a setup can be purchased over time.
when i bought my T2i i barely had enough for the body (+kit lens because body only was sold out). luckily i already had a tripod, but i shot with just the T2i and kit lens for a while. then i eventually had enough for a 17-55 and filmed with that for a while. then later, i bought an 85, then later a 50, then later a glidecam, then later a mic. i bought all that over months. just because you don't have enough to buy it all at once doesn't mean you shouldn't buy a DSLR.
