So we recently got a 3d tv at my house (claim) and we have 2 dogs who have never payed attention to the tv unless there's a dog in the movie and it barks or something. 1 dog is retarded and blind but the other one is fine, it chases laser lights and stuff (dunno if that has anything to do with it) but for the 2 weeks or so we've had the tv we've never tried the 3d, last night I watched tintin 3d with my lil brothers and the non blind dog went fucking crazy, trying to jump on the screen and barking and shit... Anyone know what's going on?
it is probably emitting a high pitched noise (see: dog whistle) that you cannot hear, but they can. Would make the most sense for the blind dog to hear it and go crazy too. Most electronics do that, and I bet 3dtv's are worse than others
now i could be completely retarded. but i am 95 percent sure i can here this. whenever the tv is on and the cable box isn't (no sounds from shows or anything) or the tv is muted i swear i can hear a really high pitched ringing kind of noise. maybe I'm just imagining things though haha
More than likely - its because 3d tv's emit different types of polarized light in order to create that 3d effect... your dog probably didn't know what the fuck was going on since it was his first time experiencing the different polarity being emitted from the tv. Seeing as how dogs eyes are much more receptive than humans - it makes sense that it would freak out.
yeah i hear that too. i can tell when the tv is on but mute, even if im in the other room, from that high pitched noise. or at least i could hear it when i was like 12, im not sure my hearing is that sharp anymore.
