Halo VS. Antigen

Hey, im interested in some skis but not sure which too get. I am 5'8- 5'9 ( still growing) and i way about 135lbs. I ski mainly rails but some jumps, nothing really over 50 feet.

Since i ski mainly rails i want something that is soft, poppy and a low swing weight. That's why i have chosen two rockered skis.

So im just looking for reviews on both skis and how do they compare to the T-halls flex? (my previous ski)

I am also wondering wheather i should get the 182 or 176 halo?

i just bought the antigens(im yet to ride them) and when flexing them they are softer than the halo. mine are 184 which are a true 182. the early rise on the antigen very gradual and smooth. id prefer the antigen to the halo since the rocker on the halo is kinda sketchy if you flex them too hard. for the tips are quite low. for your size you can still look into the 184 antigen if you have the option

also quick question, why are softer  skis better for rails?

i think so you can butter onto them, do nose presses/tail presses easier, and rockered skis are best for rails IMO because theres more tip/tail clearance for switch ups and spinning off

Also interested in the line mastermind, but i know I have heard reviews on them braking really easily, but i havnt heard anything about their performance?

Rode both the Halo for a few days this winter and the antigens for a month and a half.

Durability wise Halo>Antigen

Durability AntigenHalo
Rails Antigen>Halo (IMO)
Jumps Antigen=Halo ..

Basically you cant go wrong with either. I have had some durability problems with my antigens with 3/4 tips having some sort of delam though only one is an issue as of now. Liberty is super good about warranty stuff, and Ive personally dealt with them about skis before, so I can back it up.
Halos way more durable, just as good on jumps, I felt awkward of rails with them, gripping I would stick even though the edges were far from still sharp. Probably just personal pref.
As far as the mastermind, different type of build for the ski than the halo or antigen which are similar. Another price point line ski. I haven't heard anything negative, but I really havent heard much at all.

somehow found the rest of my post, same basic stuff.


I had real fun on both.
I felt weird sliding rails with the halos for some reason. It felt awkward to set an edge to spin off rails, and I always felt like I was going to catch. As for jumps the halos are super stable and stiffer to stomp the landing but still have that fun flex because of the rocker.

The antigens are a wicked fun ski. I learned a bunch of new tricks when I got them just because how they ride. Super fun on rails super fun to just mess around with and they hold up just as well as the halos on jumps (IMO) The durability is lacking though. I have 3/4 tips with some sort of delam, with one tip being pretty severe. Liberty is usually really solid about warranties, though it is a hassle sending skis to and from their factory.

Overall you'll have fun with each and there isn't really a wrong decision either way. hopefully you can use this info to help you decide.
