Ok so I have an Hp pavilion Dv7 that I got for Christmas. It's got all the fucking bells and whistles beats audio, i7, 8gb ram, 1tb memory. Anyways the external audio isn't working. I call Hp spend like an hour and a half on the phone trying to figure my shit out and still no solution. Did everything pretty much. Last thing to do is a full sys restore to factory settings. FUCK.! I have my laptop dialed in this makes me so angry!!! Anyways if it doesn't work I'm pretty much boned. I'm pretty sure my parents got it at costco and I know they have a 90 day return policy on electronics but I mean this is pretty fucked so I think I will go in and try to see what I can get anyways. If I can get all the money back, which probably wouldn't be the case most likely get store credit. Which laptop should I get? I don't want Hp or Mac. Don't want to pay for Mac.
Ya man HP definitely has its issues. I had the previous model (18.4" screen) and I had to send it in once a month easily. You just have to complain to them alot and they will eventually fix it for you. Talk to alot of different techs because some are just plain stupid and think that a full system retore is the only way to fix the problem. In my case, they finally just kept mine and sent me the Dv7 fully upgraded which hasn't had any issues. Its a pain in the butt but just keep on top of it and hopefully it will all play out. Just a side note, they replaced mine long after the warranty had expired and they gave me a free 3 year warranty on the replacement. Just keep drilling them!
I cant watch more than 1.5 minutes of video (on youtube, vimeo, Brazzers, ect.) without it freezing. I got the i7 with 6gb of ram so I could edit photos and videos, not so it could fucking shit the bed on my when I try to watch a youtube video.
I've literally melted chocolate that was too close to my exhaust fan.
wow, surprised at the HP hate. i have the elitebook 2740p and its incredible. the touch screen is a waste of money (i get the comp with tuition) but it is pretty cool in photoshop to draw right on the picture. never had any problems with it, even after several falls from top bunk onto cement
Also I'm not sure why everybody thinks HP sucks, they're solid computers and can do so much more than their designed to. I've had mine since 2010 and have used it for 3D Modeling, intense video and photo editing, as well as a whole slew of multi tasking Adobe projects and server purposes with no problems.
If you still need some tips just let me know and I'm sure I can help you, you might need to tweek some stuff, but it'll run like a charm.
