I have a friend whos always going around jumping and swinging to his Ska music. Hes epileptic so at first I though he was having a seizure and got worried, but then he soon explained it was just Ska. That's my opinion of that music.
Oh yeah, I love me some first wave and two-tone ska.
"Punk ska" isn't really ska all the time (although I do love a lof of those bands). To be considered ska, it has to be heavily syncopated (emphasis coming on the off beats). A lot of bands that call themselves ska are just rock with horns.
You already have my favorite ska band, the specials, up there, but a few other good bands first wave and two-tone to look into are: The slackers, The toasters, Special beat, Skoidats, Planet Smashers
Fuck man, i'm skanking to some specials right now, I was wondering if anyone here listening to Ska, i'm pretty stoked that people do, I'm watching the specials live soon.
