What kind of a gun do you own?

Looking into purchasing a gun and have narrowed it down to the Rugar 10/.22:

If you own one, post it up and share what you like/dislike about it, what kind of game you shoot, etc. Any further advice on cheaper alternatives or anything good for beginners as far as semi autos go would also be greatly appreciated.

How much did you pay for the Mosins?  I have been thinking about getting one.  How is the SKS?  Pretty sweet gun.

just bought an AMD65 to add to my arsenal. Its a small AK made made for the Hungarian military. Its a paratrooper and vehicle assault rifle. Its little and tiny and the loudest AK ive ever shot. The sold fold is neat but it would be neater if it was an underfold

My stepdad has an underfold AK... It's the only reason I want guns. I fucking love that thing. Ear ringer like whoa.

I also have an ithica 20g Featherlight trap gun, and a marlin xt-22.

All fun as heck to shoot, and the SR9c is a great carry piece

Like whoa bro. Every once in a while I will forget to put my ear plugs in and hot damn is it loud. Its my end of the world zombie/chinese invasion gun...ive been stocking AK rounds since before Newtown, up to 6k. Good luck everybody else

Haha holy shit. Between my dad and I, we usually have about 1,000 9mm rounds and 200-500 .556 rounds in the house, but 6,000? Dayum. Where do you buy from? I usually just bid on Gunbroker when prices are below $.50 a round. Brass only and no reloads.

Really though i think I spent $1,800 on AK rounds. I have 5 other guns ive been stocking up ammo for as well. I have a towering wall of buckshot

Ammoman but i havent bought any for a while so im not sure how much they are or even if they are available. They used to be $250 for a case shipped which is a steal cause thats like 40lbs worth of of bullets

No. Pepper spray was proven to be more effective. One reason for sure is because most people will panic and miss the kill shot. For bear spray, you wait till it gets close and spray. Bullet may not stop bear, a can of bear spray will blind em..

this certainly. but if you're dead set on a firearm, I'd much rather have a shotgun with slugs than a pistol if a grizzly is coming at me.

IKR???

yeah 12 gauges are too much most of the time IMO....my girl can shoot a 20 gauge just fine but a 12 gauge for smaller/weaker people is painful and just too much for clays/bottles

now if it were a .410 i'd agree with you

Youre the dumb one. Unregistered guns are the best. My brother and I were hiking this year and found a ruger lcp .380 on the trail. Thats like the ultimate find. Who cares if its a murder weapon. Nobody knows he has it and its never coming out of the aafe. the only thing its good for is committing another murder and being tossed in a lake.

Only gun I have ever owned I never shot. Unfortunately I told the wrong people I had it and was forced to discard. Which I regret doing and still wish I had found a way to keep it. (As you say if I ever needed a gun I'd probably want that one and not one from a store.)


I don't know anything about this stuff since I am technically a resident of the wrong state to own firearms and I travel too much to have one with me regularly so they're pointless to me but if I ever buy a house in Arizona or Nevada and want home protection I will be PMing you for advice.

i've owned one in the past before OBAMA raised the price of AK ammo to 15/box

not accurate, super flexy, smelled/looked/felt awesome, never misfired and never jammed. was cheap.

i dunno ARs just aren't my thing...too expensive, too scary, too dangerous. i'll stick with me 22s and shotguns

loud as fuck, designed to kill, bullets typically travel fast/far, always have a magazine

whenever handling firearms i like to err on the side of safety...which is why i like single shot/bolt action/lever action firearms because there's another level of safety....they can only fire one bullet at a time before further user interaction. i dunno, maybe i'm paranoid

My AK only fires one bullet at a time. It just has a 75rd drum attached to the bottom.
