Which would you get?

I HAD been considering getting a t2i but I doubt I will anymore, because I'm surprisingly short on money, so Was considering getting a gopro hd2(depending how the protune 35mbps bitrate update comes out) and a rode videomic for a total of £250. A t2i would cost me £430(with a KIT lens, and the audio wouldn't be great on it) and also it has the disadvantage of not being ruggedized like the gopro is, I was wondering if you had any major negatives or positives of either?

Well, the t2i will give you full control of your shots, where the gopro will give you none. Also the ability to pull focus and get a shallow dof.

no this thread is not needed. YOU need to decide what type of camera works best for capturing what you want to capture. Then we can try and help you refine your ideas. You are comparing apples to oranges

eh..i don't think anybody should buy a T2i for photography. i basically think of it as a DSLR that you would only buy if you were mainly concerned with video (which is why I bought one in the first place). it's more just that the T2i and gopro are for entirely different types of videography

Dumb thread.  If you need help deciding between a GoPro and a T2i which are two of the most written and reviewed cameras on newschoolers, then you should just quit being a pussy and make YOUR OWN DECISION.  Now if it's a newer camera or one that doesn't show up daily on the forums then it might be ok to ask for some help.  Buy the T2i! end of story,  in this case video trumps audio and it's easier to upgrade audio than your camera.

Yeah I see what you're all saying, and first off I don't consider a gopro to be good for videography, It's just a point and shoot camera, but the huge advantages are in my eyes the fact I can mount it almost anywhere, and it'd be good for holidays. I think I'll go with that unless I become GOOD at photography/videography/editing.

P.S looks awesome at windells, would kill to be filming skiers all summer, and fs100 looks awesome,

The T1i is more centered around photography. The T2i is designed to do both, that's why it comes with the option to take (good quality) pictures.
