You should be able to upvote and downvote comments, then you wouldn't get a load of the same comments and the best comments go to the top, good idea?

Sorry dude, leave that to reddit. The forums are like a conversation here, ordered sequentially. I think we all (well, most of us I guess) like it that way.

Well, what I think is that there aren't really conversations. It's almost like everyone just comments on the OP and forgets about everything after that. It just seems like we could prevent this.

Great idea. We actually have a plan around this, and if time allows we'll implement within the next few months.

There's higher priority things, but this is on our radar.

lol so it is exactly like reddit? no thanks. i like reddits layout on reddit, and i like NS's layout on NS. they work for their respective websites, and they should stay that way.

of any forum i've ever been a member of, browsed, or even stumbled across and read 1 post, the layout of NS remains the absolute best that I've encountered.

it's really the one thing that i absolutely do not want to change on this site. I can get used to anything else, but threads need to remain as they are.

But seriously, do it for videos, or maybe even when someone quotes or replies show the whole line of conversation, but dont change the chronological order of threads it would ruin NS

Yes -

It makes a lot more sense in comment threads than in forum threads. Of course, it can be used in both but as a default I don't think we'd win the argument of saying it works in forums.

Anything we do though please note we'll give the options to set default ordering filters. We're trying to make this shit as configurable as is possible.
