Lets get a thread started for inspiration to those of us who can't afford anything more than a shitty little point and shoot digital camera.

Post up your pictures that you've taken on point and shoot cameras and show that not just those with a fancy SLR can take good pictures.

I'll start with a couple, taken on a Canon Powershot A530 I bought for $40 bucks:

Point-and-shoots work fine if there is enough light and you don't need shallow DoF!!

Here, a link to my flickr with the search query "canon s70" which is the p and s I use. I always take it with me and get a lot of good shots. Don't treat it like a point and shoot, treat it like any other camera. I shoot mostly with it now and want to upgrade to an s100 or something.

I've never really been satisfied with the quality of point and shoots, I usually just use my iPhone or lug my dlsr, but they are definitely getting better. Really want a Fuji x100 but it's so expensive. Film P&S's on the other hand are the best, Yashica t4's and Contax t2's are both amazing cameras, tack sharp lenses.

As long as the lighting is good and you know how to set some MINOR things like WB, a point and shoot can make fabulous photo's. I'm astounded by how awesome P&S' are nowadays.

That's how I felt initially, but I gave it a shot cause a used s70 was cheap and was quite happy with the image quality. That's assuming it's at a lower iso and the lens is stopped down a bit and exposure is correct. But I want to upgrade to an s100 badly, the newer sensors are awesome and I might get photos that don't look like 100 speed film pushed to 1600 when using iso 400 (which is my s70s max). The s100 can go up to like 6400 or something high like that.

This is like straight out of camera too, I was surprised when I saw it.

I usually crop to 35mm ratio cause whatever the digital one is bugs me. Unless that ratio would mess with the image too much, then I'll leave it in the native ratio.
