welp...so much for using that song in one of my edits this summer....

but overall pretty clean. i enjoyed it. the slider shot with the whistler logo when he does a double wasn't really doin much for me. kinda took away from the trick imo and then the cut to the second angle was out of focus which caused him to blend with the trees a bit. really liked it tho, nice vibe.
and ill still probably use that song still anyway

Only things I didn't like were some cut offs with the crop and the super abrupt ramping. Otherwise, real smooth, i liked the track.

Pretty much sums up what I wanted to say. I'm not a fan of your cuts, they always just seem... of. Or something like that.
That aside, I don't know anyone who has shots as smooth as yours, good vibe, awesome framing and a nice song (much better than what you normally use).

if you didn't use that crop, that probably would have been my favourite edit from you. the only other thing is that i think you could have lined up your cuts with the song for more flow a little better than you did. that was definitely an awesome song though, what's the name of it?

Glad you used my song/artist recommendation, Zac! Very sick edit as well, didn't much like the crop. I also like when the shots cut with the song, like between measures, on a beat, etc. And I don't think that the yells at 1:30 fit well either.

But I really liked the slider shot, it had really nice composition.

To those who wonder, the song is Nevergreen by Emancipator.

The cropping at 0:13 kind of threw off the intro for me... But I realize that these are leftover shots so I can't really expect top notch stuff.

Maybe some tighter framing, more detail oriented shots, spice it up a little bit? Like in clarke's b brown "Solstice", fast/tight framing is something you want to experiment with at least a couple times, because I haven't seen much of it in any of your videos.

the audio really drives it to a new level, thought maybe some of the cuts could be more creative in the sense of bringing slightly more depth to the edit. But really smooth, I liked it

i do agree though, the thing i liked about your immortal tech edit was it was so different from what you usually produce!
yeah some people didn't like it, but its one of my favourite edits this season and that has gotta mean something
you just don't want to be known for the same cuts and framing and i feel that's where your headed if you don't start mixing it up a little more!

your edits are great man, but when are you gonna switch up angles?? i feel like all your edits are just the same shots with a different rider doing some different tricks to a different tune.

dont get me wrong, theyre great, but i think part of the reason you do so well is because you film with such great talent. not sure what your skill level is, but you ever think of sending it off the jumps yourself behind them and getting some in-air follow cams? i feel like not many edits have those anymore, most people just send it up the jump and slide and stop at the lip as the rider boosts. i mean i know you might have some expensive cam gear, but theres gotta be some way ...

keep killin it doe brotha. colors are always nice n shots are always smooth.

its near impossible to follow someone off a jump with a glidecam. heath used to to it a ton but he had his hvx with the top handle so it only required one hand.

dslrs are so hard to manage in air and i'm sure the footage would look like shit if someone did it. No good handle for that either.

If it was done well though, my god would it remind me of the Colby West 8mm followcams back in the day.

On a glidecam yah, but you could easily do it with a handle or fig rig with a weight and a really wide lens.

haha back in the day as in like 5 years ago. but yeah, i think im going to make it one of my personal goals to bring that back into my filming a bit as well. did a few back in 2009 but that was with an old handycam and a pos fisheye.

All that i will say about the edit though is that the only thing that put me off was the crop. When the rider wasnt in the frame coming up the lip then came into the frame in the air it just didnt settle with me. Overall it was good but not great in my opinion.

haha yes, guess it wasn't that long ago! but are you going to balance it to a helmet and add weights is the real question ;)

I agree, the one thing I didn't like about the tele shots was how tight it was on the lips. But fuck when he was in air it was $$$$, having a sick backdrop is so awesome. Soak it in zac

this isn't true at all. kevin steen used to do it all the time and ive been wanting to for so long but it takes alot to build up to a decent sized jump. ive hit a 10-20 foot jump with my glide cam and ive boosted easily 20+ off knuckles. its very possible.

but to be on topic i don't think it is a must for Zac to start cruisin black park jumps with his rig
just change it up and go out of your comfort zone.
its obvious your good at what you do!
but it's what you can do out of your comfort zone that shows pure talent
