I realize that this may only help out like a few people here ever but whatever. Fuck off
I'm on a macbook pro and have boot camp for windows so i can do some windows only things. I needed to allocate more space to the windows side and the disk utility on mac os x and disk management on windows couldn't do it.
This is exactly what i did and it is free.
I did this to make windows bigger NOT smaller
I was on windows 7
Your going to need your windows installation disk or create a repair disk by typing "create a system repair disc" in the windows 7 start menu.
Step 1 : Boot into your mac side and go into the disk utility (located in applications/utilities/disk utility)
Click on the hard drive on the left not either of the partitions. click on the partition tab. Reduce
the Partition to how much bigger you want the windows one to be.
Step 2 : Download Gparted http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php
Burn the stable release iso to a cd.
shutdown the computer and boot into the cd by holding down c when you turn it on
In Gparted select the tool and select the windows partition. Click move/resize and expand
windows so it fills up the unallocated space that you just made in disk utility. Let it run then
shutdown the program and boot back to your mac side.
Step 3: Download rEFIt to a disk http://refit.sourceforge.net/doc/c1s5_burning.html
Boot into that by shutting down and then turn on holding c
Once your in there run the little fixer thing. and say yeah fix it.
Step 4: Pop in the windows repair disc and boot into it with c
Find the repair system option and do that. shut down eject disc. Boot with the alt/option key
held down. boot into windows and it should run a check disc then your all done.
Bigger windows side and no errors and shit. It's free
step 1 made your mac side smaller
step 2 expanded the windows side, but made a lot of shit outta whack
step 3 fixed issues with boot camp not knowing what happened in step 2
step 4 fixed issues with windows not knowing what happened in step 2
So this probably didn't help anyone but it took me a while to do, and i thought i would share; but I'm to lazy to register for some more appropriate form for this subject. Thus here it is in nsg...
