let me tell you all that riding for adidas is pimp shit. sure their goggles are ugly, but as a goggle company, it's 10 times larger then any other other, period. i have a good friend who rides on their pro snowboard team and let me tell you, he gets hooked up. they have to pay top dollar to have people wear their ugly ass goggles (actually they're not that bad and are actually kinda comfy).

yeah, well if it's a money thing then way to go, but since when has skiing been about money? last i heard they don't make that much anyways, so what's adidas offer him, a couple tho more a year at most? i mean oakley probably pays pretty fuckin well too. i just wouldn't want adidas goggles when there's so many companies i actually like. hooked up or not, they should stick to soccer shoes--should have made gogs under salomon or bonfire instead. bonfire gogs would have been sick

making money is pimp shit. their goggles actually work alright, they're not even that ugly. and if they buy my friend his truck, sled, and part of his house, then who gives a fuck? as much as i like ski bumming (and those of you who know me know i live it up hard), i will wear the fugliest pink suit ever if they hook up a truck and sled to do it. and my bros' goggles are cool actually as he gets customized pimp ones with nice designs. fools.

^^^look buddy, pro skiers are not paid well. There isn't as much money in the ski industry as there is in snowboarding, so from a corporate standpoint there are bigger fish to fry. Because of this, only the biggest pro skiers make enough to live comfortably, let alone securely (retirement cash? I think not...). Any pro skier who is given the chance to wear slightly uglier goggles for a substancial pay raise is fine in my book, as long as it doesn't go much deeper than that. Personally, I am going to stick with Oakley for goggles because their products have earned my trust, and I suggest you buy goggles from a company whose product you trust, whatever company that may be.

i know that if i'm adidas, i'm thinkin, 'hey, we need to get someone out there to really rep our brand...I got it, let's steal Julien Regnier away from Oakley and pay him a shitload more than they do!' no offense, but if they were gonna steal anyone, I think they would have stolen a bigger name from several other companies...pollard was obviously available, but he isn't gay enough to wear adidas goggles. and no, i don't like oakley, but i do respect them for what they've done in skiing. i own two pair of oakely goggles that i bought b/c of their rep and i hate my wisdoms. i've got a pair of purple scott's from the lost and found that perform better than they do...and no, i don't own a single oakley thing other than the two pairs, soon to be one pair of goggles.

no disrespect to julien's skiing cuz the guy's a madman and is honestly sick. i've always loved his skiing. i just think this was a gay move by him.

oh yeah, and the top pros are making 6 figures a year, so if they are smart, there's definitely retirement cash, especially considering that all their travel expenses and gear/clothing is paid for.

first of all, you still havent explained to me how wearing one companies goggles for money instead of another's is somehow more 'selling out'. I guess being a paid athlete to use any product means selling out in your book.

To me, selling out means you don't need the money, but yet take money to represent some product that totally sucks, and lie through your ass about it. I've also seen a few pairs of Adidas goggles, and they looked just fine to me. The people riding them told me they liked them, and no, they weren't being paid to. It's not the brand I'd pick, but that doesn't really mean anything.

In conclusion, unless you can prove to me Adidas goggles suck, or that there's some reason Julien Regnier shouldnt be riding for them, quit talking shit on the internet.

im sure adidashas a shit load of technology going into their goggles and they wouldnt have shitty lenses likethe a frames( how they tend to get that oxidization on them) or teh wisdoms with shitty range of vision. their colours may be ugly or the design tacky, but the shape of teh goggles isnt bad. looks arent the biggest issue anyways. how do they work and what will tehy do for you.

and yeah, i ride a pair of goggles i found in the lost and found, and my parents haven't paid for any of my ski gear ever. i could give a fuck what tanner hall rides or anything like that, in fact, i think oakley goggles suck, especially for the price. that's why i wish julien would have gone to a better company if he was gonna leave. but i'd still rather ride oakley gogs than those adidas and so would all of you.
