Question on oversized brakes

If I my skis are 90mm underfoot, is a 115mm brake way too large? I found a great deal on a pair of bindings but if this will compromise the binding then it isn't worth it.

A 115 mm brake is going to be pretty giant and will probably drag. You could do some bending but it probably won't work. If the deal is that great you could order a pair of 90mm brakes and just switch them out. What kind of bindings are they? Your best bet is probably get a different pair.

They are FKS's for 125 in great condition, but I don't think you can buy spare brakes unless you find someone to trade with. I will have to find another pair that fits.

that just such a good deal buy em then deal with the brakes. itl work out. also 115 might work. idk. its only like an extra 1.25 cm in each side

No. Op my friend had some 85 underfoot skis with 115 brakes and they were constantly catching on shit and dragging when he'd carve. I'd look elsewhere

Ive got some Green lifes that are 100mm underfoot and some rossi axials that have a 120mm brake.  I also bought some 100mm replacement brakes. The 100mm brakes actually seem pretty small for the ski and the 120mm brakes dont seem too big. Any thoughts on which ones i should use?

Use the 100mm brake, if they are too small you can allways bend them, but the 120mm brakes will be much too big to start with

Overall yes a 115 mm brake will be too big on your 90mm ski. However FKS do suck for changing brakes. If you cant find some spares and someone to switch them, you have to get rossi to do it, for $175, which makes that good deal less then good.

Maybe see if you can find either an FKS with smaller brakes or just find any other binding which you can switch the brakes on.

For the other guy above. Probably use the 100mm brake, its better for them to be a little tight then too big, genrally. We were using 115mm brakes on teh Rocker 2 which was 122mm underfoot and it was working out well. The 130mm was slightly better in that situation, but I would use the 100mm in your case.

Especially with fks' it'll be a lot worse, as they don't come in much at all, marker griffons would be JUST usable with 115s on a park ski but that's only just, because they came in a good 20mm
