Hey guys, I just saw this video while browsing the FStoppers Facebook page and it was really great to watch. Aaron does and amazing job of showing what goes into taking some of the most beautiful shots imaginable and capturing one of the most remarkable landscapes our planet has to offer.

He also translates the message of how the artist is what counts and not the gear he possesses, an idea I think we as a community could learn a lot about.

Nobody even seen the thread :(

But yeah that's exactly the way I feel, I'm going to try to see if i can make or find some type of "polarizer" type filter and play around with it.

Would a sunglass lense work?

I don't think gear will make you a better photographer but I do think it helps a lot. Flashes vs no flashes, a longer lens, or a fisheye will all the change the look of your photo. There is no once answer to how to take a picture, every subject requires different gear and a different approach, so having and understanding how to use different cameras/lenses/flashes/mediums is very important. Renting is a great option if you need a lens or body for a job/client, but it's a little bit un-realistic for personal work. A great thing to do is borrow and lend out your gear to friends who all shoot canon, I have a good circle of about 3-4 photographers going and we all let each other borrow and use gear that we aren't using.

Haha I noticed that as well, I'm sure he shoots film as well. If I was at that caliber I know I would.
