Is a trip to Liberty Snowflex worth it?

Me and my friends are thinking about taking a trip down there, but im skeptical about if the trip will be worth the time and or money we put in. A few Questions/Comments

1. I live in PA, its a 6 1/2 hour trip there. Too Far or is it worth the drive?
2. Should we plan to ski there for multiple days? (Will it get boring after one day of 6 hours of skiing?)
3. Is there anything else to do there should we stay multiple days?
4. When I worked it out it came out to about 160 a piece for 3days 2nights, skiing, hotel, gas, food inc. Worth it for that price?

Any Help greatly appreciated.

think of it like this, you are only 6 hours from a state of the art facility that is the only one is the us
i drove six hours to ski on ice cubes for a rail jam in pennsylvania once, it was the jankiest thing of all time and still worth it, 8 years ago, roundtop?, wallisch was grom...

so worth it. im from pa as well and went down last summer. place is so much fun, and its super cheap. the jump is prime. they also have nice trampolines and an indoor skate park with a foam pit. there is a kfc and taco bell close by as well.

It's gotten a lot better since my trip there. By the looks of it now, definitely worth it.

I'd say its worth it, $160 to ski for 3 days. Seems a good reason to go!

160 was skiing for 2 days the way i worked it was drive down in the morning ski that night (hrs are 4 -10) then do the same the next day and leave the third, but I still think its a pretty good deal.

I'd still do it!
Its skiing in the summertime and its reasonably cheap compared to going to a camp.

it's worth it, if you're committed you can learn really fast. Also there are cool mountain bike trails near by, and they have a tramp with a flybed but you have to take a class or something to use it.

160 is an amazing deal for that much fun. its prob gonna be a little more, but still go for it! and let me know how it is, because this is makin me think maybe i should try it

This, I ski snowflex and dendix quite alot now, more than I ever planned to because I progress so quickly on it.
I havent been in a while because of exams but this summer I'll probably go 4-5 weekends to my local hill.

We've been there twice @11 hrs each way. Sooo worth it, way fun and you'll get as much progression in 3 days as a week on snow (laps are so quick) You won't get bored but there's a lot of mountain biking trails and a pretty decent looking skate park (new since we've been just seen vid's). Make sure you check the website they're on summer hours so plan accordingly. We're going for two weeks this summer...totally legit... next best thing to going to hood.

Probably going to head down there for a couple days (2-3) in August as it would be a 16 hour trip for myself, I plan on eating some cheap ass food, mostly snacks that I bring and sleeping in my car with a friend of mine. I haven't been there but I would say that it is worth it, especially for yourself.

if you are looking to cut down costs, stay at a campsite with tents instead of a hotel. plus chillin by the fire at night would be ill

I go down there two weekends a summer. This will be my third time down there. It's dope because where else can you get like 100 hits on a jump in 6 hours. You can spend time priming your air game or get up on their rails/boxes. It's definitely worth it because you're just taking laps in a park with virtually no line to wait in. It's cheap, too. Can't beat the price. You can take the jump as deep as you want, too. I guess they say it's marked at 30', but we take it deep all the time. Hotels are cheap there, too. Just get a bunch of friends, cram them into a room, and it's all super cheap for the weekend. The skatepark has some nice minis, a bowl, and a foam pit to prime the air awareness before hitting the tramp or snowflex jump.

Thanks guys we are definetly gonna head down there now just gotta pick dates. As for the tramps and stuff i think someone said you need to take a class or something to use it? Anyone know what thats about?

first of all, OP: where do you ski in PA? its almost the same distance for me and I'm right by 7 Springs.

Second, GO. here's some notes from our trip down this past weekend:
-Do not try to camp in the far corner of the parking lot. goes without saying really, but we tried. we got all set up and then immediately told to leave.
-Pay for 2 hours- ski the whole day (if you are cheap, obviously).
-If you pick the hotel option, you can't beat the Super 8. Within a minute from the hill and you can get away with nearly anything.
-If you have even the slightest desire to try a trick, TRY IT. You won't get a softer landing unless you are hitting an airbag. Don't leave regretting being a pussy.
-Don't throw shit. Seriously.
-Don't be disrespectful to ANYONE.
-If the lift breaks, DO NOT ask why.
-If they threaten to call the police, the police will come.

That's about all the tips I can think of for now. Have fun.

I was there 2 weeks ago. its plastic like carpet with padding underneath. you are required to wear a helmet if you do any features and required to wear pants. I wore crappy white ski pants and a white underarmor long sleeve (tight) with a tall T over it. I skied in 95 degree weather and it was tolerable. at night it cools down and they stay open sometimes to 1am!. wear mechanics gloves, long sleeves, and make sure to tuck your long sleeve in so you dont get rug rash on your back after falling.

the features are "ok"... the big jump is 28ft to the knuckle but you can take it super deep and still land it fine. the rails are 95% boxes. and 1-2 hand rails.

i was just super stoked to ski since I havent skied since 2010 due to an acl surgery last winter.

well worth it! the hotel on the mountain is sweet, with a pool and a hot tub. and the town has an indoor skatepark thats only 1$ an hour to ride at with a nice foam pit. Bowling/movie theaters are right down the road (less than 2 miles).

do it for a fun trip. its very inexpensive and its always nice to ski in the summer even if you cant make it to Hood

Question for anyone who has been there :

Do you know if they charge anyone who is on the slope ? My girlfriend doesn't ski, but she takes sick pictures so she wants to join us on a road trip down to Virginia in August. Wondering if it's possible to have her just walk up to the jump / rails and set up her tripod, etc. without paying the 7$ an hour.

And yes, I could call them, but it's currently near midnight and I will probably forget tomorrow. Thanks in advance for any help.

Your g/f doesn't need to buy tickets. I filmed an entire day (ACL surgery in december). and they let me walk all over for pictures. Its tricky to walk on at first but you get used to it. Also for pictures make sure you bring a few microfiber clothes. The sprinklers mist up water about 2ft off the carpet but when it gets windy it will get on the lens every so often

thanks, Id recommend her to hold a backpack with drinks and bags to wrap the camera in if its super windy. good luck have fun!
