Trying to upload a video to Vimeo, file size too big for basic account

Thats basicly it. Basic Vimeo users can only upload videos up to 500 mb, and my video is
1,04 GB. Any tips from the people of NS who have knowledge about these things?

So the question is if theres anything i can do to the video in order to upload it, or is my only option to get Vimeo Plus?

Compress your video to 500mb or less or get vimeo plus.  Not much else to do.

LOL.

It would've been easier to just make the video smaller, I don't know how yours is that big unless it's like 12 min+

Is it in a compressed codec? If its in h.264 and its still over 1gb long, then you must have a really long video

Its two minutes long... Meh, pretty cheap anyways. Guess i kept it at good quality or something

I'm going to go ahead and say something was not set correctly in your render settings.

I've uploaded 3-6 minute videos in the highest quality possible and they're still only about 400-800 mb.

Yeah dude, most of my 3-5 minute videos are under 500mb you can retain quality if you know what you're doing. I mostly like to compress a little more just because waiting for a 1gb file to upload takes way too long sometimes ha

The quality you probably have it at is higher than Vimeo is able to support anyway. most of my edits are 200-450 MB when i upload them

I suppose this is fairly relevant

We have some recommendations for this video:

  • This video's datarate is 57091kbps, which is pretty high. For HD video, we suggest you use a lower datarate, typically 5000kbps. A lower data rate means smaller video files and faster uploading. Learn more about our recommended HD settings.
  • This video's audio datarate is 6912kbps, which is higher than what we recommend. A lower data rate means smaller video files and faster uploading.

I strongly disagree with this statement. I would say the difference between bad and good is smaller in photography, but the difference between good and great is SO MUCH BIGGER.

Hurr, why does it say it will start to convert shortly? For two hours it has said said message. Won't be able to watch it on vimeo until its done. Is this normal? Can upload a picture of it.

if you have the video data rate at 57091kbps and the audio data rate at 6912kbps I don't even know if vimeo will be able to convert it, you should probably just re compress the video and try uploading it then, see the link I posted earlier..
