Scorpion Caddies

Im looking to purchase a scorpion caddie for my camera. Im using a sony HDR-XR200 nothing special but i think it would help a lot with the stabilization. eventually I'd also like to attach an extra mic to the caddie as well so I want to make sure i buy the right mount. i've been looking around and reading some reviews but I'm a laymen in the area of cameras and accessories. any recommendations are super appreciated, and of course +k for the help.

save the trouble and make yourself something out of angle brackets for 5 bucks. i bet you could even figure out how to put a mic on it. scorpion caddies don't do all that much, and cost far too much for what they do.
