so this black kid who i went to middle school with is now heavily involved in Hartford gang life, and he just posted his phone number on facebook. his status reads, "yo dis my new jack 860-xxx-xxxx hit my shit ooowwwwww." what shit should i hit him with? ill send him just about anything you tell me too, for the lols.

for people hollering about how hartford isnt that bad compared to a city like new york, keep in mind that a big city has a massive gang control force, and a much much larger police force. hatford, on the other hand, was a perfectly nice city until about 25 years ago when two gangs started popping up with a really small police force and no gang control to do anything about it. more than once the ENTIRE city has gotten caught up in a gang war. not just one or two neighborhoods, but everything from the ghettos to the financial district. there are areas where firefighters will not respond to calls because people will shoot at any authority for no reason, and building will burn uncontrolled. i have to drive through one of the less desirable parts of town to get to my local ski area, and ive seen people smoking crack, i saw a guy punching what looked like a hooker into a brick wall (there was blood everywhere), and a couple of teenagers completely destroying a car parked on the street. and all that was in broad daylight in view of cars driving by. i went to a magnet middle school where 1/5 of kids were from hartford and two 11 year olds got into a knife fight in the bathroom over gang related issues.

im not making any of this up, and im not exaggerating. hartford has a wicked gang problem which came out of no where not too long ago. even though connecticut is the second richest state, there is an immeasurably large gap between the cities and the country.

and as for this, im not going to pay much attention to this because you tend to be an objective, uneducated, asshole every time you post, but new york isnt very bad. it has had its problems in the past, but after 9/11 there is so much police in that city that you cant fire a slingshot without having the whole fucking army pushing their red white and blue dick up your ass.

I was on a school bus driving through hartford this spring to get to a track meet and in one alley there were about five dudes just chillin in a circle and in the next alley over, five cats, just sitting in a circle staring at each other. Gotta watch out for those cat gangs. Dangerous shit.

just to back up a couple of the people here about hartford, I worked in the Hartford Hospital ER and let me tell you, the powers that be DELIBERATELY cover up sooo much gang violence. If you think you know whats going on in Hartford cause you follow WFSB, you dont. In the summer I would get a shooting/stabbing death a DAY or more, and a bunch more shootings and stabbing victims that lived. That rate of violence is incredible for a city of its size. I worked 3 3p-11p shifts in a row one time and had something like 17 shootings, with 5 fatalities. Those made the news (the kids shot on the scooters and then the back and forth shootings after, for my CT people that remember). I also worked the amberlamps and they issued us bulletproof vests. I picked up a dude a block from HH in front of a busy-ass Mickey D's whose whole face was blown off by a shotgun blast (about 1pm in the afternoon in the summer BTW) and was eviscerated by the second shot. Doing CPR on him made his entrails come back and forth out of his abdomen like a bunch of sausages. I now work in in a large midwestern inner city and its still not as bad as goody-two shoes Hartford CT.

take that for what its worth.

some of the worst. not the absolute worst. right now youre arguing about a fact, and i dont understand why. im not saying "i THINK hartford has bad gang violence" im say that it does. its not THE worst in the country, but its not far from the worst. do you understand the words that i am writing? it is a fact (i.e. not up for debate) that hartford is a bad fucking city.

and yes, new york city has gangs. yes, they are violent. no i would not want to go into the bad parts of new york and shout racist slurs. but compared to a lot of other cities new york isnt that bad.
