FS: Canon 60d (10/10) With Extended Warranty & Accessories

I have a Canon 60d for sale, before anyone asks I'm selling it to upgrade to most likely a 5dc or a 1d2n. It is in mint condition, this thing literally looks brand new. I purchased it new last September and I take good care of my gear. It has around 12k shutter actions on it, maybe 3 or 5 minutes of video, I'm a photographer. The only minor damage cosmetically is some slight scuffing on the bottom of the camera which is very typical as well as a few small scratches on the LCD. Shutter is clean, I haven't seen dust in any of my photos and I do clean it often with a blower. I have never had any problems with this camera, I just want to go full frame. I was hoping to get around $800 USD, it retails for $900 on most sites.

When I purchased my 60d I opted for the 3 year extended warranty. It covers any failure that occurs during the terms of the contract (over 2 years remaining). It if fully transferable and can be used internationally, the selling point for me. Henrys is the most reputable camera store in Canada, it is our version of B&H or Adorama. It costed me $170, so with just over 2 years remaining, I am pricing it at $110. That also includes a 2 year battery warranty with one year remaining. Any time in that period you can take the battery into to a henrys location and exchange it for a new one, if you do not live in Canada I can do that before it is shipped, although my battery is still retaining it's charge perfectly fine.

The camera also comes with the original box, all accessories (Battery, charger, cables, strap), as well as a 16g class 10 Transcend SDHC card.

All together I was hoping for $900 USD + shipping. I would really prefer to keep the warranty with the camera, it is useless to me once I have sold my 60d. Once ya play with medium format and 4x5, any digital sensor just starts to fall shot... even full frame.
Won't touch digital unless its a phase one..

..


..yeah right.. wish i could photograph like that. You should definitely up the sensor size if the 60D is feeling useless - I never use mine anymore either. Alas, my style is more suited to an analog approach, but I am realist.. digital is necessary now.. I'm looking to pick up an older 1D as a work/school cam, and getting an RZ for personal work. Photography is separated into virtually two different practices now, dont you think?

^Yep, but for my personal work I'll take film over digital any day like you said. Digital is just more convenient for clients, it's nice to be able to know you got the shot, you can do a quick edit and be done with it.

Hey man, good to see you upgrading to a 5Dc. Fricking sick camera. I love the image it produces, much nicer than the 5D mkII (imo).
The price seems kind of steap though. You say it's 10/10, but it has some scuffs and scratches and 12k actuations. A 10/10 camera is brand new and sealed in the box (normally). I understand you're trying to say it's in very good condition, but nevertheless 800$ sounds pretty pricey to me... Especially when you look at refurb prices and other ones offered online...

The scratching is so minor that it is hardly noticeable. 12k is not much for a modern dslr, they are rated to hundreds of thousands. My price also includes the $170 extended warranty which is fully transferable to a new owner.

Yeah, but you only pay 100$ less than you would for buying the same stuff new. I'm not hating or anything and would be happy for you if you got your asking price, but it just came of to me as quite 'expensive'.

Camera gear in general in Canada is more expensive so take that into account. And I'm trying to get as much as I can out of this, need to fund new CF cards for the 5d. I also feel like this will end up going local on Craig's List so once shipping/insurance/paypal isn't a factor it's also more reasonable.

True that, and you're right about everything of course. CF cards aren't that expensive though. You only need slow ones for the 5Dc, 166x will do easily. 8gb can be had for about 15-20 bucks or so. I use Transcend 133x's with my 5Dc as well and they are plenty fast enough as I don't shoot action with it anyway.

What I'm trying to say is: don't waste your money on those ridiculous 45/60/90 mb/s cards that are way too fucking expensive. It's not worth it.

I was going to go with class 10, probably sandisk's, obviously there is no video and I wouldn't be doing 10fps raw+jpeg sequences.

Good luck selling, you're going to need the money for your Pentax 67 (it's an 67 right, not a 6x7?). Does it have a meterd prism?

It's pending locally for $850, picking up a 5d1 tomorrow! And the Pentax is a 6x7, but it's basically the same thing. And yeah, I got a TTL prism, so much more convenient than using a handhold meter.


On another note if anyone is looking for a nifty fifty let me know, I think I'm going to upgrade to the 1.4 as well.

Nice! You're going to love the 5Dc. The tones are just too great.

How much did you buy the 6x7 for?

Also, going to upgrade to the Canon 50mm? Get a second hand Sigma. It's a MUCH better lens, and if you buy it second hand, you know for sure the focus doesn't need calibration.

I got the 6X7 for $490 shipped. Yes the Sigma is sharper and has better bokeh, but there are so many focus issues with that lens. Also, the Canon 1.4 can be had used for a decent amount less then the sigma, and really, I'm pushing the bank account right now, I'm supposed to be saving for whistler.....

I recommend not doing that, really. Especially what with the price and everything.. It's so not worth it at all.

The only things that the 1.4 has over the nifty fifty are the 8 blade aperture rings, the whole faster-ness, and the miles better focus ring (which you can still get by spending less than half as much on a nifty fifty mk1)

The 1.8 has much faster autofocus, is plenty damn fast, and sharp (really, at 1.8 for both lenses, there is so little difference it's crazy). The falloff is damn near exactly the same.

Meh. I don't know. I just have never been satisfied using the 1.4. The 1.2L is pretty incredible, even though the autofocus is slow, it's at least accurate... and yeah you get the weather sealing and the speed of a black hole.. (still not worth 1500$)The 1.4 has been abysmally inaccurate every time I've used it.

The Nifty fifty is about the only 50mm lens I'd ever use on a Canon EOS camera in any practical manner. If I'm buying anything faster, it's going to be manual.

SOLD.

Local, it was picked up this afternoon. As for whis I'm only going for February-May/June, might stay on longer but at that point I will be working full time. I have to go back to high school, but I'm only taking two courses in the morning, so I have a ton of free time to work. Not super worried, I don't know if that's a bad thing though.
