My theory to why it doesn't have the same appeal as most action sports is because it's essentially urban figure skating.

I'm not saying skiing's history is much better, but I think guys in 1 pieces hucking quad backflips on 250cm skis with no helmet is a lot cooler than what roller skating used to be.

Mistys and Switch Misty Flips (Called Fakie Misty in blading) were done by bladers in the 1990s please learn the facts before you talk shit. Only grommet ass kids hate on another talent. If you were all grown you would respect without ignorance.

I'm pretty sure freestyle skiing did not come from a guy watching rollerblading edits. Just because it was there first does not mean it was the inspiration for skiing.

oh em gee looks like there's another place to compare rollerblading and skateboarding on the internet! very cool might as well leave my opinion, both are fun skateboarding is about 15 trillion times harder to pick up, become comfortable with and eventually progress to where you almost look like you know what you're doing. rollerblading is pretty easy, comparatively that being said i would call skiing(park skiing) easy also i put parentheses around park skiing because it really doesn't require much actually skiing ability or technique to do and it fits well with the comparisons being that longboarding doesnt count because it is easier than pooping on your neighbors lawn and i dont think anyone rollerblades around town anymore totally lost my train of thought now oh well peace



none of that really means anything^ other than "oh em gee looks like there's another place to compare rollerblading and skateboarding on the internet! very cool"

how the fuck did bladers come up with 450s and zero spins? that's like saying snowboarders invented the 1080, when in fact, it is called that because THAT IS THE NUMBER OF DEGREES THEY ARE SPINNING.

I don't even know where to start with alley oops, it's just easier to call you fucking stupid.

and I've never heard the term backslide or fastslide in skiing so yeah I guess you could say that those come from blading. which is probably why nobody does them.

I wasn't even talking about rail tricks by the way, because in case your dumb ass hasn't noticed, most rail tricks on skis are just spins, with the exceptions of tailpresses, noseblunts, etc. which cannot even be done on blades because rollerblades don't have noses or tails.

Most grabs and flips in skiing are named after the grabs and flips in snowboarding which are named after the grabs and flips in skateboarding. Not fucking rollerblading. Yes I know not a lot of flips go down in skateboarding but if you go as far back as the tony hawk pro skater games from the very early 2000s there were special tricks like the "misty flip" and such.

I wasn't hating on blading when I first posted on this thread, but since you called me an ignorant ass kid and said some of the dumbest shit I've read all week I felt the need to pick apart your statement.

Fuck you and fuck your fruity ass sport. If all bladers are like you then I could care less how much every other sport hates you guys.

Safety Grabs> Done by Rollerbladers in the 1990s, Ski Boarders(who used to rollerblade) brought the grab to the snow, then Freestyle Skiers picked it up a couple years later.

Misty Flips, Rodeos, Safety grabs, same exact switch-ups stances on rails. All done in the late 90s before they brought the tricks to Ski Boarding right before the era of Freestyle Skiing in the 2000's.

Still does not mean that's where skiers got the ideas of doing those flips from. Snowboarders were doing all those flips before skiers, seeing as both were mountain sports it seems that skiers got most of their ideas from snowboarders. I seriously doubt many skiing tricks are based off of rollerblading tricks.
