Mayrhofen is meadows, so means they can cover snow a lot easier, and the actual skiing starts a lot higher due there being no ski out, unless you go to Ahorn, L2A is huge (so is Mayrhofen), but Les Deux Alpes does have a ski out, which would be good if you with students, as getting 350 students on the Penken-Bahn(think its called that) lift at the end of the day may be a little stressful.
To be completely opposite there isn't much in it for either resorts, both have a lot of every terrain and both have good snow cover early season due to being very high altitude.
Cons - Mayrhofen
- Start of day lift lines
- End of day lift lines
- Weather can be a bit hit and miss (as stupid as it sounds)
- Confusing parts as the piste maps aren't very straight forward (I ended up going to Finkenberg like 2km away and had lost my dad, pretty scary when I was 16 and had to get a taxi with these random Russian people who paid for me /claim)
Cons - Les Deux Alpes
- French people
- Maybe not much ski down in mid December (don't go by word though)
- Easy to loose people
- Winter park actually sucks if I'm honest
You will have no problem with either of these resorts though to be fair, sorry if I sound contradicting in this rant by some of the things I've said.
