outside of the shot, in front of the ostriches, they were holding a bowl of seeds out on a string. Naturally, the ostriches pursued. It took a couple goes, but eventually they got it done.

basically trial and error. The ostriches would hit them off balance resulting in various spins and trajectories. The successful jumps were stitched together in post production.

Haha, this is brilliant. Kudos to the people of Japan for taking the time to train up these Ostriches. Fantastic progress, and who knows, maybe a Dew tour appearance in 2013. Personally I wish them all the best.
