these are the actual ones but there absurdly expensive (400 dollars)

the Vans Chukka Decon CA are very similar and are only about 75$ if you check those out.

Or just my experience with high-schoolers.  Probably 90% of the time, the white kids I know who wear high-tops are white kids that act black and try to get in fights all the time.

Bahaha are you kidding me? You're generalizing pretty hard on high top wearers. I'd say a solid amount of kids who skate in my school wear high tops, including me, and none of them fit that description of "90% of high schoolers who are white and wear high tops." You're essentially saying that you can only wear high tops if you are black and get in fights all the time. Looks like a lot of skate companies are advertising for the wrong market!

Most skate shoe companies don't make their money off of true skaters. They make the majority of their money off of people who have either never stepped on a skateboard in their life.

So what I'm saying is that no, many of the larger skate shoe companies don't market themselves towards skateboarders.

For example.. Bam Margera with element, the majority of the people who bought the Bam Margera labeled merchandise, which was the majority of the product element sold at that point in time, were not skateboarders, but element is a skateboarding brand, is it not?

Think about vans... how many people do you see rocking authentics now? How many young ladies do you see in Vans? Now how many of those people you see wearing them actually skateboard? Nike SB, do you see more people just skating in them, or wearing them like any other shoe?

Get my drift, or do I need to spell it out further?

Going back to the original argument, satin that 90% of people who wear high tops are fouches is like saying 90% of all basketball players and skateboarders and douches. Also the fact he said he would never be friends with someone base on their shoes just proves his own douchinesa

I can't think of anyone at my school right now that skates.  It's not very popular around here in high school.  Everyone went through a middle school phase, but then quite before high school.

And yes, I judge people based on what they wear.  Because clothing is actually a decent indicator of a person's personality.  It can often show when someone is trying too hard to be cool or whatever.  Which is why I hate high-tops; I just don't really like clothing attire that comes off as trying too hard to be cool or stand out or look fresh.

Wearing high tops does not make you a tool. If you're a tool, you're a tool, and it's not because of the height of the tops of the shoes you wear, it's because you're a fucking tool.

Damn this thread was really making me feel like a total douche for buying a pair of supra hightops. but fuck it, I like them. I usually try to find really bright colored shoes which seems to be increasingly difficult. But some of these shoes are fucking awesome, i could use a pair, curious to know the price of some of these.
