The WiiU has more processing power as the PS3 and 360, and while not next-gen, it's in the same league. You're talking about Nintendo consoles as a whole as girls' consoles, which makes you a fucking twat.

yeah because the gamecube and wii were such a "gaming" delight. Yeah, nintendo has been SOOOOO amazing for gaming lately that they lost almost all 3rd party support for making games since the n64. Yeah, you are right... the Wii was such an amazing gaming experience, ive never had so much fun playing minigames. Yeah, such a large library of excellent games for those 2 consoles compared to xbox/ps. How could i be so foolish?

Are you kidding me? Nintendo consols are awesome because you can sit down for a couple hours every week and have some fun playing games. It seems to me that lots of people are forgetting the fun in video games and are instead spending hours every day on their Xbox, Ps3 and PC in order to gain achievements and prove to other people online that they are superior button mashers. I would prefer to have a couple hours of fun on a nintendo consol every week than waste time playing on a game consol that I don't enjoy. My $.02 anyways.

Gamecube had some of the best games ever made, like Metroid Prime 1&2, Eternal Darkness, Zelda: Wind Waker, Viewtiful Joe, Killer7, Resident Evil remake, Resident Evil 4, Super Smash Bros Melee etc.

Wii was a breakthrough in casual gaming and for most points, a shitload of fun. Even making some shitty 'girls' console' argument is pretty stupid in the modern world of gaming.

i still play my super nintendo and NES with a group of friends and booze about once a month. I hear you, some of the best times i have had gaming were in the 8 and 16 bit days. There is no question nintendo can produce the occasional fun game but they are at a huge disadvantage for making a "gamers" game when they have no 3rd party support and if that support is there... its normally a very shitty port of game that has been released for xbox/ps for many months earlier. I like nintendo as they innovate but their last 2 systems have been real duds therefore they will have to prove they are more serious about taking care of gamers instead of how many copies of "wii sports" they can sell. The wii is hands down the worst system i have ever owned.

ports. I see they are starting to get more support from the 3rd party but i have read a story that quite a few companies are staying away from the system until it has been proven. I hope this system works out, it looks like a cool concept but the marketing approach of nintendo for the past 2 systems has been geared more towards selling volumes of game copies rather than quality. Nintendo make high quality stuff, its just the direction of the company that most gamers have issues with.

gamecube was the best console gaming device during its time.
first it had a significant amount of platform exclusive games as compared to ps2 and xbox like mario and starfox.
second the gamecube had alot of back drop play (or whatever you call it) so you could play gameboy games on it.
thrid, that thing is a frikin brick, you can drop the thing from a few feet up and it will be fine.
fourth and finally the gamecube was significantly cheaper, and it played alot of the xbox ps2 games along with its nintendo exclusive games.

and to prove all these good games

mariokart double dash, legend of zelda, metroid, ssx on tour with gamecube exclusive content, multiple starfox games, super mario sunshine, the gamecube polemon versions, 1080 snowboarding games, animal crossing, sonic, and the kirby games.

Yea that's alright, but If you already own an xbox 360 or ps3 why would you buy a whole new console to play games you can already play? I'm talking big exclusives that really make you want to play the WiiU for it's uniqueness, something that you can't get on an xbox or playstation. But it's gotta be big. I'm just going to take a shot in the dark and say that this game isn't as big as say a Halo or God of War.

Well no shit? The Wii was specced somewhere between a prototype of PS3 and the Gamecube - it wasn't about the graphics whore wars, but introducing a new element in gaming that was functional motion mechanics. Even without the add-on, it worked pretty well in these recent years, even better than Playstation Move or Kinect to this day, even though their tech was developed with a shitload of more funding and pressure to compete with the Wii.

I sold my Wii some time ago, but I was also happy with the no-bullshit backwards compatibility with GC titles, something that was pretty much inexistent on the PS3.

About that 3rd party support, the graphics again come to play - if bigger developers are aiming for higher profits, they will concentrate on pushing out a product that looks new, not dated, something that wouldn't have been possible to achieve on the Wii due to processing power alone. And 3rd party support really, Wii has the largest third party support in the world, look at the amount of nearly unknown games from a wide selection of developers around the world. Baby's First Walk, Dinosaur Daddy, Dooby-Dooby Diddy etc. The easy entry, a new interesting control scheme and the lower graphical capabilities were the largest reasons why the Wii is still doing great in all sales.

are you clueless or just retarded? Your entire argument means nothing and proves my point of their direction to out sell the competing consoles.

-platform exclusive games were mostly made by Nintendo... aka the only good games for the systems.
-The system itself was inferior in computing power.
-the platform was cheaper so it could sell more units.
-it had many more kid and family geared games, so that opens a market the xbox and ps would never really tap into.
-no online play is fucking sweet too.
-a large amount of ported games from the other platforms, aka... the games were tuned to other platforms and forced to work on the gamecube.
-listing a vast list of games you "like" and claim to be the best is straight up laughable. I could make a list of over 100 games that were ultra-popular and reviewed flawlessly because its just that god damn easy when you have such large game libraries that are not made from one single developer (nintendo)


atleast the gamecube and Wii look cute... i guess. Maybe thats why all the kids and girls enjoy them so much. Cute little systems, cute characters, and all nintendo made games look almost exactly the same with bright colors and high contrast.


Now move along nintendo fanboy.

i agree. The wii has its place in the games market, im just saying its not really a gamer's machine. Its more of a pick and have mindless fun system or have a party with girls and drinks, to me at least.

My understanding is that the "unknown" developers had an easier time writing games for the wii and it was cheaper for them to produce for this console. The ps3 had a well known issue for being difficult to write code which translate into money and time to produce games, so if you had a limited budget and experience it just made much more sense to make a game on the highest selling console and cross your fingers.

You say ports, yet nearly every game made today that is available for more than one console is "a port". Why does AC3 become a port sipmly for the WiiU? Can you tell me if Hitman: Absolution is a port of the PS3 version to the 360, or vice versa? Or maybe a console port of a PC version?

Quality - that depends on how you define quality. Is it the graphics, the replay value, intricate controls to perfect, skill needed to finish a game, multiplayer content or just about having fun while playing?

I've been looking at my friends play games like COD in fits of rage. I don't understand it. They hate the fucking game, yet they keep on going, knuckles numb. Same thing with WOW and other MMOs or LoL type deals, I look at them play and I see no fun, no smiles, no laughs, just anger and venting and 'serious business' -faces.

I'd rather just have fun while playing. Old school Nintendo and 3rd party devs used to create fun and fulfilling games with frustration embedded into them by need; if people were going to shell $60 on a game they could with luck and skill clear in the arcade with less than a tenner, they needed to promise that same difficulty in their homes. Most legendary games can nowadays be beaten in less than three hours, which would be kind of a disgrace for a sixty buck price tag these days. Yet, somehow, games are easier than ever before so even the casuals can get the same experience as the more annoited gamers for the same price.

And that's what quality is all about - money. So fuck the game industry, I guess.

I agree. Nobody cares about gameplay. The way people sees the Wii is all just a social point of view. As a matter of fact, i remember that the best version of resident evil 4 was on the Wii.

The Wii opened the market, and opened our eyes to what gaming could be. All the systems followed with their own motion systems years later......which shows you who the real leader is.  Nintendo is the original innovator in the video game world. Microsoft and Sony are only poor copy cats.
