Replying to Question about grades and GPA

So I'm trying to raise my GPA and I'm wondering if it's worth doing some extra credit to go from a 94 to a higher grade for one of my classes. Basically why I'm asking this is because 93-100 gets you an A and there is no A+. But as far as your GPA goes, will a 96 bump it up more than a 94, or is an A an A meaning that once you get at least a 93, anything higher won't really count? Because on your transcript, all you see is the letter grade and not the %.
