Domain vs. Ace of Spades

i have a pair of this years domains and they are so much fun, they dont seem heavy at all to me and the durability is meant to be bombproff and mine have been great so far, defiantly would recommend picking up a pair

I own a pair of domains and i love them, some comments i would add though. I got my domains through a skier who is on k2, they are considered k2s jib ski and are not good if you plan to do a lot of jumping, he uses them as his park backups and I've seen him break 2 pairs of them. Since they are so flexible landing off jumps causes the tail and tip to smack really hard and they will break. Rail wise the Domains are an amazing ski, they are a lot of fun and they are also good in trees and cliffs. I also have a friend who rides on the Ace of Spades, they are going to be a little bit heavier and the sidewalls are much thicker making them less flexible but they can take a beating. I know its not much technical info but hopefully it helps!

do you know the size of jumps your friend was hitting with the domains when he broke them?

Thanks guys, I'm pretty balanced between rails and jumps but I still think the domains would be fine because I'm not too heavy. Does anyone know if the Ace of Spades have tip and tail rocker, or are they full camber?

i personally loved the AoS way more than the domains, domains were cool, but i loved the way i could rip on the AoS while the domains were very playful i didn't trust to ski them at my max ...

this, with any flat camber ski, much like the s5's I have, they tend to get a washed out feeling when you are cruising on them. If you're considering a ski for butters, rails, and a nice playful cruiser, def go for the domain or a flat camber, subtly rockered ski.

Thanks everyone but I have a couple moe questions. It seems like the domain is the softer flexing ski of the two, but is the AoS stiff or more medium flex? Also, how fast is the Domains base?

can't really help you there, i skied both in super slushy conditions so can't really judge about the base quality, but i'd imagine they'd perform pretty similar in terms of base-quality

A friend of mine just bought a pair, we put them beside my un-rockered ones and realistically they're virtually just cambered. The rocker in the tip and tail is functionally about 3cm long with maybe 2mm of rise.

His also have more camber than mine, although I've skied mine a bit and having all that metal they're bound to flatten out a little.

I skied the 2010-2011 AoS last season and loved them. They were my first twin tip ski though so I dont have any other ski to compare it to. They arent very flexy and they arent stiff, so I'd also say they are a medium flex. I waxed them 1 time throughout the season and they were fast and stable. I didnt hit any jumps over 30ft but the jumps I hit they never washed out on me. The durability on these skis is awesome too, unless you run over a big rock(which I did and it left a small gouge not even a core shot). I didnt hit many rails so I cant say how they perform on rails. Overall I would definitaly reccomend these skis and the graphics on the 10-11 AoS are sick so thats a plus!
