PLEASE make them stop calling me

I moved to Toronto about 6 weeks ago, so I obviously got a new phone number. Since I got the number I keep getting this call where when I answer there's nothing but a slow beep. It's super annoying. I get it a few times a week, but one time I got it three times in one day. I *69'ed the number and looked it up on 411.ca, but it said that the number is unlisted. It did tell me though that it's a Norigen Communications Inc. number. So I looked that up on google can called the number under contact info. When I called I got a message saying the number is no longer in use. I tried calling Bell (telephone provider) but after talking with the chick for about 45 minutes all she could tell me is that the number that is calling me is no longer connected. We were both extremely confused. She said I can block the number, but it would cost me $5/month. Before I do that, I wanted to hear if any of you have any ideas on how to make it stop.

get caller id, so whenever that number call you don't have to answer it

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

Caller ID is more expensive. Also, I have an answering machine so caller ID won't stop my answering machine from being full of beeps when I'm not home.

Jay, we get the same thing! We get it at random times every two weeks or so. Every 5 minutes, someone calls and its just slow beeping. IT only lasts an hour or so, and we havn't investigated yet.

Dan, yours sounds a little different. Mine doesn't go on for an hour. It doesn't call back immediately after I hang up, I just get several random calls at random times during the week.

I just disconnected my land line phone and use a cell phone for everything. Best thing ever, I never get hasseled for anything

yea man screw having a land line, it's all about cell phones and saying fuck the home phone. who uses those anyways....jsut a waste of skrilla in my eyes.

Cell phones are expensive. It's probably okay if you live on your own, but landlines are way cheaper if you have roommates.

I'm not going to not worry about it. It's fucking annoying. It fills up my answering machine (so people who really do care about me can't leave me messages), it gets me out of bed, and it's generally extremely obnoxious.

i heard that sometime thieve used modem to called people to know when they are at home and when they are not...

^ yeah they do that shit. They'll call you like a million times and get a whole bunch of data on you so when the fuckin telemarketers do call, they'll call when you're home. They do that to my house. Except there's no beeping, just nobody says anything. I don't answer the phone if the area code isn't 509

i ordered a penis pump and didn't pay the people. i get caleld form them all the time no, it's kind of embarassing when my brother is like 'chirs your penis pump company is on the phone!'

but whatever, i don't mind.
