I am searching newschoolers left and right for camp comparison. I havent found much. I live in NY and there are pretty much no ski camps near me. Windells, COC, MHSSC, Woodward, Momentum... Skiing is just a hobbie for me, but its so fun and i want to get better but cant afford any of these camps. I just want to go to a ski camp that teaches you a lot but is still loads of fun. With all these camps out west i need to pay for airfare so also keep this in mind. +k to anyone who helps or gives me good advice. What is the cheapest, "funnest" camp out there?
everyone of those camps is fun but if you are looking to ski in the summer, almost everything will be expensive. you could try whaleback in new Hampshire or ohio dreams. i dont no much about either besides that they are not out west
Added to those camps stated, there is also Woodward, PA which I hear is surprisingly fun for skiing?.. Whaleback, NH is cool too, as well as Lake Placid Water ramps and Ohio Dreams. I went to Woodward, PA for skating 3 years ago (wow really that long ago :0) and it was pretty great, good skating, nice people, huge campus, hot chicks, I will post more about Woodward pa if you want.
Well OP, as far as I am aware, we are in fact the least expensive freeski camp available and seeing as we are located about 1.5 hours south of Cleveland, we're not very far from the great state of New York. While of course we don't have any snow, we do have park specific water ramps, a dryslope jib hill, and an in ground Olympic trampoline for all of your ski training purposes.
While we may cost the least, we are still one of the best and what we lack in snow we make up for with great coaches, 1 on 1 instruction (we have had multiple campers that went to other, more well known on snow camps that said our coaches were the best and they learned the most at Ohio Dreams), no lines, nearly unlimited ramp/tramp/rail time, massive indoor and out door skate parks, tons of BMX trails, and a tight knit "family" feel to camp that all combine to make for the best week of your life.
But hey, enough of me trying to sell camp to you, the best thing is to really do your research. Go to websites, read other camp threads, talk to people have attended all the camps, read reviews, visit websites, make phone calls, send emails, PM representatives, etc. You'll have fun at any camp, you just have to figure out what camp best provides what you are looking for. Send us a PM any time and make sure to check out http://ww.ohiodreams.com and check out our videos at http://www.youtube.com/user/ohiodreamsOFFICIAL
went to woodward pa last year, helped me so much... my best trick last year was a shitty 3 and i can 9 and cork 5 now... theres a box there too which is pretty chill, im going again this year week 8. oh and theres loads of hot girls but i think zandertower made that clear
Montana is a little closer to New York than Hood or Whistler and is home to a little known gem of a summer ski hill called Red Lodge Summer Ski Camp, www.rlissc.com The 2nd Annual Beartooth Summer Session is going down June 20-23. The session is set up to be like a bare bones summer camp experience (no coaches or meal plans but cheap lodging and lift served skiing). Check out more here, http://www.on3pskis.com/announcing-the-second-annual-beartooth-summer-session/
already been mentioned a couple of times, but whaleback in nh has a summer camp. its $799 for a week of overnight camp which consists of using an indoor skatepark with trampoline and foam pit as well as using the outdoor dry slope for rails. PM me for any other questions you might have. hope you find something that works for you!
not in the summer, but they just made their summer setup 100x better by astroturfing and snow flexing a small hill and putting rails on it. there is a thread in the new england regional forum i will post the link
Yes, the wale is cheap and pretty sick! Check out the thread in NE regionals as well as maybe other threads there.
@OP Do you skate? This could help determine what camp you go to.
Also If you look into cheap airline ticks you could go to Woodward @ Copper for any session one week for <$2000 with air fair that is cheap. This is what I am doing but for two weeks. If you choose to go here or consider it ask/pm me questions and check out the website.
i compared coc and windells last year heres what i got out of it. if you strip down coc to just park access it is significantly cheaper, but if you pay for all the things that windells offers, COC is some 1000 dollars more than windells.
