A little help please

Hi so I have done a little research and could not find a definite anwser I have a 28-80 ff lens and was wondering what the focal lengths are on a aspc sized sensor I heard something about multiplying by 1.6 but those numbers seem a little off so any help would be helpful +k to all who help Thanks Taylor

28*1.6=44.8
80*1.6=128

so on a canon crop sensor camera, it will be a 44.8-128mm equivalent. It will look like taking a crop from the center of a 28-80 lens on full frame in terms of compression and depth of field (at the same subject distance).

internet froze up for a second, but that gives you a decent standard to medium telephoto range

Thanks i got those numbers they just seemed a little long because i compared it to my 18-55 and it didnt seem that much longer and useful info would be useful about all i know is that i got it with my k2 rebel 35mm film camera i know that it has a usm motor and after a bit of looking apears to be the kit lens that comes with the k2

Nikon is 1.5, canon is 1.6, so a canon 28-80 would effectively be 44.8-128. The thing to remember is that even apcs sized lenses still have the crop factor. Canon's kit 18-55 is effectively 28.8-88.

like you probably saw from zbphoto's post, the 28-80 on film/full frame is almost identical to the 18-55 on a crop sensor. The one thing is that all canon full frame lenses (ef, not fd, fl, etc) can be mounted on a crop sensor, while ef-s lenses can't be used on full frame (even is the mirror clears they will vignette, though one notable exception is the tokina 11-16 which can be used at 16mm on full frame).
