yo op im not hating on you or anything, and sure what your saying has a good reason and cause. At the same time I am hating on you because you are attempting to influence the design of other people's lives and thats just fucked up. If you really think about it whats right and wrong all comes down to opinion so if you think that smoking cigs is bad, good for you. Just shut up and keep it to yourself though because sometimes it might be better to smoke (im not saying im for smoking or against it btw).
spark notes- Shut the fuck up and don't try to influence the morals of others, because you may not be right yourself
A lot of smokers are idiots. I mean the ones who smoke cigs at the bus stop or in lines, indoors with children or the ones who just throw out their butts. Also
As long as someone is being courteous though, who cares? It's none of your business.
No becuse that was before they had the readily available knowledge that cigarettes will give you cancer.
And personal choice blah blah do it if you want but I wish people would live more deliberately and logically and weigh the risk and benefits of things like smoking cigs. Waste of money, directly linked to cancer, gives you a buzz for the first 6 months that you smoke, then it becomes a habit and addiction that is entirely pointless and provides a small sense of pleasure and relief that can easily be found in other more cost and health effective ways.
so yeah it's safe to say idiots and people with little will power smoke cigs.
Also I meant to qoute your post about the 1900's.
Inb4 smokers make dumb comeback arguemnts to rationalize spending 8 dollars on shortening their lives.
why in the fuck is there DDT in cigarettes??? On the other hand soap bar hash in the uk and europe can be bunk as hell with tons of additives like cow shit, hey, turpentine, glues and so on. The weed version of cigs.
Yeah well I'm not in the UK and I don't plan on buying soap bar.. So I think I'm safe. But yeah I have also heard that in the Uk a while ago there had been incidents where glass fragments were put in the bud to
i have heard of that shit. they also grind up rubber into the soap bar too and cut it down so much that only 5% of it is actually weed. This just shows you that big tobacco companies are no better than punk ass dealers by adding all theses adulterants and not giving a fuck about the consumer.
I smoke 1 american spirit a week. American spirits have no additives so dont pull that shit on me. I do not get addicted. I smoke 1 a week and for 4 to 5 days after that i never want another cig in my life. then days 6 through 7 i would take a cig but i never crave it. The buzz is just pleasant for me.
also do you realize that drinking without getting drunk is poisoning your body for no purpose? So are people who drink beer without getting drunk idiots?
also if your opinion is that cig smokers are idiots then why aren't you excited we are all dieing a a slightly faster rate? less idiots in the world, social Darwinism in affect.
i use american spirit tobacco for my spliffs if i smoke a spliff, they are usually a 10% tobacco 90% weed blend. drinking two beers or so will give a small buzz if you get smashed everytime you drink that is not a good thing and is way worse than drinking a few beers a night. drinking responsibly does not cause as much harm as smoking a pack of cigarettes a day.
Are you fucking kidding me? Either you are completely fucked, or just trolling. You can't pull the (healthy activities) injuries card against a cancer stick. Only a smoker would be that self-absorbed to even come up with that. It's too bad cigarettes have so much carcinogenic additives, rather than being purer tobacco. It would make a significant difference for addiction and adverse health effects.
It's sarcasm, buddy. I'm pretty neutral on a lot of issues, including smokes. As you probably saw in my first post, I wish the tobacco industry and poison-laden stuff as we know today are run down during the next fifteen years - a lot of countries are preparing for it constantly by tightening laws on where it's legal to smoke and controlling even heavier taxation.
As constant smoking, say 3-4 packs a day or week, is proven to be more of nack of the lower wealth classes here, making it illegal to smoke on the street, at work, at bars and clubs, on your balcony or even inside your own apartment on top of raising the price of a single pack to over 10 euros (planned, now sitting at a comfy 4.50e or so) will make it very difficult for people to indulge on this little habit. A lot has changed in the last 10 or so years - when I was in junior high, I very seldom heard anything being said about smoking or the smokers at school being negative. Nowadays kids are brought up more intensely to be against smoking from a young age, which is great.
It may have been touched on already so I'm probably too late, but I don't smoke and these are my thoughts - Too much emphasis on lifestyle choices here. Smoking and obesity are singlehandedly dragging us down, causing a huge financial drain, lowering quality of life for us as a whole group of people, and causing emotional pain and suffering on those left behind. There comes a point where you have to balance this stuff with freedoms. If smokers could pay the system in full what they cost in healthcare though, I would be cool with it. Obviously they can't, so I feel like its a wasteful drain of resources (which are already spread thin).
totally dude, because we could see into the future and now that retards will put rat poison and shit into cigarettes, and glass into chewing tobacco. yup early america was totally screwing us over.
i dont smoke cigs but i smoke hookah every once and a while. I guess one long hookah sesh is horrible for you and i can definitely tell tell the day after.
smokings fucking retarded. I loose a lot of respect for people that smoke, who the fuck says "hey i want to get addicted to cigarettes, get lung cancer and be a looser the rest of my life"? nobody. people start because they dont have the balls to refuse, they are looking for a false sense of satisfaction so they dont have to get that satisfaction themselves. or even worse they start because of peer pressure and want to smoke so they can feel accepted. its fucking pathetic.
im the opposite just about, i use only high quality shag from a local shop that specializes in nice tobaccos, and mine are pretty much always 50/50-70/30 but to each his own. I mean i used to hate spliffs and tobacco, but like most things in life it works out best when used in moderation
in my opinion at least. especially when drunk. like come on if you smoke like 2 a week theres no health problems and it feels sooooo good when your drunk
if you smoke a lot of cigarettes you can get health problems. so ya i guess someone who smokes a lot could be considered an idiot. but i mean thats a little harsh
I haven't smoked a packaged, pre rolled cig in months I think. I am a fan of hand rolled ones with good tobacco though, so there's not all the shit in them
Cigarette smoking is widely recognized as the leading preventable cause of illness, disability, and premature death in the United States.
Today one in five deaths is cigarette-related! This accounts for more than 430,000 deaths each year. Half of all regular users will be disabled or die as a result of smoking.
In May, 2000 the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences moved secondhand smoke up to the category of known causes of cancer in humans.
Prevalence of cigarette use in the total US population is estimated at 30.9% but the number of cigarettes sold per person in 1999 dropped a record 8%. There are 4.5 million current smokers, ages 12 to 17.
Smoke-related illnesses cost the nation more than $100 billion each year. It is estimated that $50 billion are spent for medical costs and another $50 billion for indirect expenses.
Tobacco Kills - Don't Be Duped
(Slogan from the World Health Organization)
Nicotine dependency through cigarette smoking is the most common form of drug addiction, causing more death and disease than all other addictions combined.
It is now well documented that regular smokers increase their risk of death by
Lung cancer 700%
Cancer of the larynx 500%
Cancer of the mouth 300%
Cancer of the esophagus 400%
Bladder cancer 100%
Cancer of the pancreas 100%
Emphysema 1,300%
Heart disease 100%
Out of 4,700 chemicals in cigarettes, researchers have identified 60 carcinogenic chemicals.
Cigarettes contain:
Cyanide (deadly poison)
Formaldehyde (preserves organs and tissues taken from humans and animals)
Methanol (wood alcohol)
Acetylene (fuel used in torches)
Ammonia (household cleaning product)
Acetone (fingernail polish remover)
Poisonous gases: Nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide
Yeah, have fun smoking kids! Na, its not that bad for you!
Most idiots think it's cool when they are young and start, as many of you know it is highly addictive and can cause many problems as said above^, also they cost a ton nowadays and are just an overall shitty idea.
inb4 badass meme too to anyone who brags about smoking hahahaha.
If the people smoking cigs are aware of the risks involved but don't quit, all the power to them. If the people smoking cigs deny the fact that smoking frequently leads to cancer etc, than they're idiots. Just because a person places a different value on longevity or the risks and rewards of smoking doesn't make them an idiot. Some people are OK with the risk of dying young, dying from lung cancer, or suffering from any of the other conditions associated with smoking. Don't judge them based on their smoking.
Sure, cigs are addictive, but not to the same extent as powerful drugs like heroine. From what I hear from people I gather that getting addicted to smoking is a relatively long process. Cigs aren't like opiates where you can be addicted after your first few times, so people who are starting can quit relatively easily if they feel the need. Because it's possible to quit smoking before you actually get addicted, cigs don't need to be illegal to "protect" people from addiction. It's a choice.
As long as people don't smoke indoors in places like restaurants, I'm OK with it.
