Help! this isn't working!

I put this in build a jib but im kinda panicking since we havea good amount of money in it



5 foot high... ten foot rail.... i thought 5 foot would be fine with speed but the lip to the rail kills it it seems... i basically went off that how to build a drop in sticky thread.... and its not working

we were thinking just making the flat part higher off the ground and just dropping to the rail without the kicker.... i dunno if thatll even work though

we tried a plastic sheet on top but its super sketch.... does that construction fence really help that much?

basically this, decrease the distance between the rail and the drop in and add some height to the drop in, also try to make it faster if that doesn't work with more soap and water or maybe a new material like orange construction fencing.

i think im gonna jack it up tomorrow... and i guess just keep the angle we have cause it seems steeper than most people (i know you are offering advice and i appreciate it but its scary steep as it is)..... if we jack it up a foot we wont need to have the giant kicker and can just drop on the rail from the flat

Make the transition from drop in to flat more mellow, maybe just throw some wood under the legs of the drop in so the platform is slightly titled, but the drop in is less steep and transition is more mellow. Also shorten the space between drop in tranny and lip tranny, maybe by about a ft or so. You also might be able to make the lip a little bit lower which would allow a better rail hit. Usually when the lip is higher than the rail it makes tricks super awkward.

^yeah i think we went too steep with the drop in and the compression is causing us to lose speed, mellowing it out wont be too difficult

I'm gonna get rid of the kicker all together and bend the long ply wood to make a smooth kicker....while also cutting down on tranny length.... then ill adjust the ramp so its not so steep thus making the transition smoother......that should fix it

if not last resort ill build it higher

Jus checking because I made this mistake at first, but do you have anything under the turf in the flat? Because turf on grass will kill all your speed because it's too soft

yes its stapled to a piece of plywood...good to know though, ive always considered ditching the plywood but i guess it does help

we put a straight up piece of plastic covering it and it was super slippery but still lacking.......but i think the lack of control was a big issue....ill prob pick up some fence

My proportions might be completely fucked, but that rail does not appear to be anywhere near 5 feet off the ground? I think you will catch tail and tips on the ground when hitting it.

I think your biggest problem is the transition from the flat to kicker. It seems like the kicker is just 1 angle without any transition at all. It just kind of comes out of nowhere. My summer setup looks just like this, same height, and it even has grass under the turf on the flat instead of plywood. We get plenty of speed on it with enough soap. For a kicker we used to plastic 1080 or xfactor ramps or any of those plastic ramps that everyone has growing up. Those have pretty good transition and work really well. If you need more height out of them you can just stack things under the end.

i cant tell from the picture but make sure that you have a pallet or plywood or something hard under the flat part because if it is on the grass it will kill your speed

Also, do you use soapwater on your turf when you ski? If not, derp.

UPDATE: I'm taking a break cause i've spent 5 days straight on this thing and i forgot what the inside of my house looks like.

I just mellowed the angle out and im planning on adding two more small angle changes at the end..... it should be a bout the length you see of the clutter

thats 5 days of work? that is the saddest looking setup. haha but what everybody else said, transition should be very short.

5 days total 4 days to get what you see at the op .. 1 day only worked like 2 hrs.....so i guess 3 days technically
