Can we sleep in the parking of mount hood timberline for free with a tent ?
You can stay at the far end of the parking lot for free, but only for a few nights before they start getting weird about it. There are usually a few camp trailers out there and hikers that leave early in the morning stay in the lot all the time. I wouldn't expect them to allow you to stay there more than like a week though. Check out the other Oregon thread on here titled "current camping conditions", I listed a few free places in that one.
if you want to sleep in the parking lot you have to sleep in your car..I don't think tents are allowed in the parking lot..but just get adventurous hike a half mile into the woods and set up camp
you can really tent anywhere, even up on the glacier...but you can find your own lil spot in the woods just be respectful of ALL rules and no one wil bother you.\
i slept in a tent until i had a rather large visitor that i never had visaul contact of, i slept in my car after that.
