hey guys! I was wondering if any of you knew anything about sandbox helmets because I am thinking about getting one, but I don't have much info on them. I was wondering about their safety. Are they as safe as POCs? Are they safe enough?. I was also wondering about style. Do they look good in person? they look pretty good online, but I'm not sure. Thanks for you help
Can't say I really like the way these look, especially on skiers. For safety, I haven't heard great thing about their helmets, but I have no first hand experience with one so don't take my word for it. In my opinion, you would be better off looking at different helmets. I am currently in a Smith Maze right now, and it is awesome! Incredibly light. Also, consider going back to a POC helmet again.
they have a certified version with foam in the liner. it's not as comfortable as the original or as low- profile, but it's safer. I can't stand the brim, it's constantly pulling up the helmet on your chin like a big windflap.
personally, I think sandboxes should stick to snowboarders, as you look like a moron with a big brim sticking out of your head skiing, personally i have a smith holt park and it is the best helmet ive ever known, moral of the story, buy poc, sandbox is ugly
