This is something I wrote to UnofficialNetworks.com, but I think it applies to everyone on here as well.
Read this shit. It saves lives.
Hi guys,
I'd like to thank you. You, indirectly, saved someones life today. Let me explain.
I read this article recently:
http://unofficialnetworks.com/drowning-drowning-important-read-summer-98693/
On my way home from taking an exam (which I completely blew, but who gives a fuck), I all of a sudden heard splashes. I looked around and then saw an elderly man (he must have been about 75) in the water. He wasn't asking for help and I yelled 'Sir, are you ok?' - of course I didn't get an answer.
Then I remembered your article: the man was drowning! He was just gasping for breath, unable to speak. He was fully clothed and submerging all the time, getting in a lot of water. I hurried to the water and managed to get the poor man to the side and out of the water. For at least three minutes he wasn't able to say anything: that's how out of breath he was. He was completely confused and he had no idea how he ended up in the water. Luckily we were near a hospital and that's where I took him. I'm going to call the hospital now and see how he is doing.
Thanks for the article. Maybe it's an idea to repost it. Seeing how it already saved one persons life within five days of posting this, I advise everyone to read this article.
If nobody would've walked by within a minute or two, he for sure would have drowned. Your article helped me make the right decisions much faster. Thanks.
