Hi SG,

I'm pretty sure everyone knows of shaun white, and Tony Hawk.

Anyways if someone says Shaun's there favourite snowboarder, people think it's stupid (don't know why), anyways who do you think that person is of freeskiing.


Sorry if this doesn't make sense, I can't really think of any other way to explain it.

If this is what he's looking for, there's no comparison to Shaun White. Some people might say Simon or Bobby, but fuck those people. Shaun White legitimately sucks ass. Skiing doesn't have a person like that which is awesome, and hopefully it stays that way.

People seriously overestimate the value of these sort of public appearances. As without reinforcement through common public attention the name of that person and would they do will be gone from the viewers mind by the next ad break so to speak.

Tom Wallisch I honestly believe is the most well known skier as he has generated a 'word of mouth' fan base like no other. All my friends who don't even ski know who Tom Wallisch is because of people talking about him and his style and what he used to represent in skiing. The internet affect is powerful. An appearance at an ugly lesbian's feminist rally, which sums up 'Ellen', has no where near as big an impact as an awesome edit which people push through the net showing their friends in extended networks. Especially when in the case of the Ellen example, none of those gay bitches know or give a shit about action sports let alone anything that does not involve playing softball and braiding their vaginas.

Tom Wallisch is definitely the most known but people don't hate him. I live in a town with not that many freestyle skiers and majority of them know who Tom is. But I dont think there is a skier comparison with Shaun White.

This. Also, I hate Dumont in a similar way to White, super arrogant and comes across as a douche,can't doubt his skills though. Wallisch is a huge name but that's through talent not over hype or negative publicity.

People saying Tom Wallisch are fucking retards. He barely crosses over enough to be known in all of skiing, let alone outsiders.
The most "Known" pro's are guys that aren't with us anymore like Shane.

I reget to say I'd not even heard of Shane until the news of his death. I know now what a ski  legend  he was, and what a great influence he had on the freeski community.

 Call me a "retard" but I still say Wallisch. His picture is mainstream in just about every TNF store I go into, not to mention his tv ads dominated the xgames. He's getting known outside our small ski community now. Other than Tom, I'd say Simon, and Sarah Burke

everytime I try and bring up freestyle skiing at school someone almost always asks me "is that what linsey vonn does?" anyways that being said I would say Tanner Hall or Bobby Brown most girls I hang with know of BB cause of how hot he is.

freeskiing is still underground compared to the likes of snowboarding and skating therfore we dont have a pro that is know by the general public but that will all change after the olympics
