20th century figure for a day, who would you be? (essay)
looking for an essay for a scholarship that I gotta do, anyone have one written? If you could be one person from the 20th century for a day, who would it be and why?
Patton, either Roosevelt, Neil Armstrong, Alan Shepard, Chuck Yeager, member of the beatles or led zeppelin, or a participant in d-day. Thats just a small portion of possibilities, just for myself.
My grandfather landed on omaha beach and drove a duck boat back in WWII. He never talks about it, but you just get that vibe that he was a fucking badass way back when.
Someone who was involved in WWII. Either landing on Normandy and being part or the largest land-sea invasion ever, or someone who helped liberate Auschwitz, or someone who fought in Stalingrad. Possibly someone who was part of the pacific campaign flying a Black Cat. Also I'd like to MLK Jr. I'd want to know what it's like to change the world.
Also I am a history nerd. WWII is my favorite subject in anything my teachers will teach me. Ever.
I know the conditions quite well. I would never want to be them for an extended period of time. I understand how rapidly Typhus and other infectious diseases passed rapidly through there. But I'd just want to see what it's like. Remember the context.. For a day.
I'd personally do MLK, but he only changed America for the most part, not the world. Whoever wrote D-day, vibes to you for the idea, also vibes to the person's g-pa who fought on d-day
my grandpa drove a landing craft at Juno /pride, and he won't really talk about it unless you ask him. But if you ask him, he'll tell you every single detail like it was a week ago lol
I like the einstein idea but I would choose someone more exciting if you were to actually be that person for a day... I'd wanna say one of the Beatles or a WW2 vet
but for essay purposes, go with Oppenheimer (guy who spearheaded the atomic bomb in the 40s). you could pump out a really good essay a lot easier than with other figures. lots goin on in that guys head hahaha
Choose someone with a good life. Rockefeller must've been stressed as shit, same with the famous people. Remember, while they may be famous now, they were gritting their teeth and getting shit done then. Hard work, being Truman.
I'd be someone from the Roaring Twenties (assumed to be wealthy). Sorry I don't have an essay written on it, but that sounds like just a baller fucking time. Cruising around in this new invention called a car, going to wild house parties, Speakeasys, just living a crazy life pre-Great Depression. Straight retro raging.
