Man kills Two, injures Seven in Night Club Shooting

"An 18-year-old man and woman were killed in last night's shooting incident in Hyvinkää. Seven were injured, and one of the injured is a 23-year-old policewoman in critical condition.

The police caught the 18-year-old suspect early Saturday morning from the woods a few miles from the city center, clad in fatigues.

The incident began at about 2AM last night, when the shooter opened fire on the people grouped outside clubs Amarillo and Level 5 from the roof of the adjacent building. The shooter had a miniature rifle and a high-caliber rifle, both which he had no permits for and had acquired from people close to him.
His criminal record is "nearly clean" according to police.

All the victims are young adults. There is not known motive yet and the police are not sure if the shooter knew his victims. The incident is being investigated as murder and attempted murder."

This is definitely a first for Finland, if I recall correctly. Pre-meditated shooting spree from a roof with a rifle, not good. As for the motive, my friend who lives in Hyvinkää has been hearing that the guy in question didn't get in to the club last night and shortly after this went down. Not sure of course, but plausible.

There's a reform coming up in Finnish Gun Laws soon enough and one of the amendments that has been touted to become stricter is the storage of permitted weapons, having mandatory-strength locks, cabinets etc. and even only allowed on the premises of gun clubs, shooting and hunting ranges. After something like this, it will probably be pushed through with flying colors.

Sad stuff.

Exactly. You and everyone else should have the right to never not have a gun in your house. You hope that they are never needed for self defense, but you have them just incase.

The point is that Hitler or Nazis have no place in this conversation, numbnuts. And your argument that I somehow approve of their actions and am somehow spineless are equally irrelevant.

How could Hitler and Nazis have no place in a conversation about guns and power grabs, numbnuts?  Unless they didn't use guns and abuse power maybe there is some nuance that I'm missing? When did I claim that you approve of their actions? I asked if you truly did give not a single fuck about history, like you said was the case. Where did I supposedly claim that you approve what they did?

Next time I will remember that Hitler offends people before any mention of his name. What if I used the Gulag as an example instead? Still irrelevant to guns, right?

What makes it a shitty example? Is it too dramatic or just too long ago for you to remember? It's actually a really good example of what happens when the wrong people have control over the public and overstep boundaries. The people that sound like idiots are the ones who fail to notice the importance of history and fundamental rights.

How do you snipe with a knife? Or try to attack anyone and succesfully kill two and injue seven when you're a little pip-squeak like the shooter? This was a case of short mental relapse and the fact that he had the weapons in his reach made this possible.

I'm not afraid of guns. I'm pretty handy with an assault rifle and handgun myself. The thing is, me arguing against weapons, doesn't that make you the spineless one here (you like that word don't you), someone who is afraid to go on without guns? You seem to be afraid of this power grab situation very much, just like I asked earlier in the thread about your fear mongering house invasion scenario.

History - be it gulags, Nazis, fucking Pol Pot - no place in this conversation about a night club shooter, the reasons behind that attack and what the consequences of that event could be.

Now then, I did actually say "Fear mongering much?" It's a question, isn't it? House invasions aren't exactly common here nor are the chances of anyone retaliating to one with guns, so that argument was out the window from the beginning.

Yes, you never made a single mention of the shooter although that's what the thread is about, weird. This thread has no place for your history bullshit that's completely unrelated to this incident, that's all I'm saying.

So first you said that the "history bullshit" doesn't have a place in the conversation but now you say it does have a place in the conversation just has no place in the thread. The conversation is part of the thread though, weird.

Just curious, what makes my example "bullshit"??? Are you saying that Hitler never did what he did? Or just simply things that happened in history have no place for discussion in present day? History has no relation to present day at all, right?

What I'm saying is that you're a troll alias considering all this Hitler and historical pandering. No simple idiot can be so nitpicky except for the purpose of trying to rustle some jimmies.

Under heavy/tough guard/protection doesn't pertain to human guards, but more likely vaults and more strongly held gun lockers under supervision by CCTV, alarms etc.

The fact that some people in some place in the world want to abolish or lessen gun culture doesn't make it compulsory for everyone around the world to do the same, so even that line of your argument is invalid.

Actually this is my only NS account, so what you're saying is untrue. The only person being nitpicky is you. Getting your panties in a bunch when I "generalize" instead of using personal examples? Being such a meathead that you can't even allow let alone consider historical examples in a conversation....

I never ever claimed that cultures trying to lessen gun use should become compulsory for everyone else. So that line of my "argument" is actually non-existent. But lessening/abolishing freedoms and handing over power of authority is a different story.
