I know, odd question, especially on NS. That being said, we've been gettin' our redneck on while building, performing maintenance, and prepping camp for the summer season, and we've found ourselves jamming to a lot of country. IMO it's just good working music, especially some the older and more traditional stuff like Willie Nelson, David Allen Coe, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr. etc. Of course we love our hip-hop and rasta jams for skiing, but we were just curious to see who shares our view on country. Share your opinions and favorite country jams if you have any!

I cannot stand Rascall Flats. They were a crappy pop-rock band before Disney music producers had them "go country"

Saw Brad at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this year. Epic show at an epic venue.

Yeah they are annoying as hell and their lead singer has an absolute turd voice. Well turd isn't the first word that comes to mind buy hey, don't feel like getting banned.

I really hate most mainstream country nowadays though. Country has to be cut with another genre for me to really enjoy it. All of this new stuff though is horribly overplayed on the local radio station and that just adds to the pain because a lot of it isn't good to begin with...

I really hate twangy, mainstream country. but i can get into some bluegrass and johnny cash occasionally. I normally don't listen to it on my own though. I also like this song for some reason.

Is hating all mainstream things just due to the rebellious nature of 16 year olds? Are you all hipsters? What is it? I know there is a surplus of really shitty mainstream music out there, but there is also a lot of stuff that is really good. You're not cool because you download shitty artists that have 100 views on youtube

I found myself listening to this old gem when I was trying to make my way home through this blizzard last week, eventhough I had snow in every bodily orifice and wind in my face I couldnt stop smiling, the whole thing must have looked so absurd

hahah I pop back and forth between 98.5 92.5 and 97.9 who ever is playing a good song at the time. 97.9 is probably my favorite, especially at night, they dont have to many commercials.

townes van zandt is one of my most favorite artists of all time. the best sad country cowboy tunes ever. you may have heard his cover of the rolling stone's "dead flowers" in the big lebowski, which I think is even better than the already amazing original song. Also good, but more like outlaw western is Spindrift.

To everyone who mentioned Hank Williams, Jr. and III, they are also great. Waylon Jennings is fucking awesome as well.

The only time I really listen to it is during the summer when I spend 14 hours a day working wheat harvest. It totally fits the lifestyle of my summer. But after summer.... naw it isn't for me

Never was much of a Country fan until I went to a concert and it changed my life.  From then on I have loved Country!  I prefer it over all other music genres now.  This Summer I saw Eric Church and Luke Bryan in one weekend and it was EPIC!!!! Saw Dierks Bentley for free too earlier in the year and he put on an awesome show!

I went to PCB last year, too bad I was a year late with Luke Bryan playin. But there's nothin better than listening to country sittin by a lake with some cold brews and chicks.  Can't beat it.
