I know, odd question, especially on NS. That being said, we've been gettin' our redneck on while building, performing maintenance, and prepping camp for the summer season, and we've found ourselves jamming to a lot of country. IMO it's just good working music, especially some the older and more traditional stuff like Willie Nelson, David Allen Coe, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr. etc. Of course we love our hip-hop and rasta jams for skiing, but we were just curious to see who shares our view on country. Share your opinions and favorite country jams if you have any!

i really hate what people usually think of when they think of country. i think it's music that forgoes creative accomplishment to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and while that sounds extremely pretentious, 10 songs about a pickup truck and a broken heart later you might be singing my tune.

but, i do enjoy a good twang here and then, some bluegrass and some alt-country. just saw deer tick a couple nights ago and it was pretty kick ass.

I've been a huge fan of country for a long time. My very first CD, back when CD's were brand new, was Garth Brooks Ropin' The Wind. Probably back in 92 or 93.

Also had Alabama's "Cheap Seats" cassette, and Tim McGraw's "Not A Moment Too Soon" cassette:

Been to a couple Kenny Chesney concerts, which also had Gretchen Wilson, Dierks Bentley, Uncle Kracker, and Jake Owen (when no one had heard of him yet)

the kenny chesney concert in pittsburgh every summer is wild as fuck. so many people go. i'm not a huge fan of country but the whole city comes out. basically it's insane and a large amount of people are very intoxicated.

This guy I was hanging out with last year loved country so we listened to it all of the fucking time. Some songs are okay but it's just not my preference at all. too each their own though, i'm surprised to see this getting so much action and wouldn't have expected a thread in nsg on it

I like the classics, Alabama, cash etc. as great music and I like modern pop country, swift, band perry etc. as cheap entertainment. It's like Cash is a well grilled steak and Swift is a cheap hot dog, they both have their place

I used to hate country, but my town has a venue in it that has 5-6 big name concerts a summer. I've seen Lady A, McGraw, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney and Sugarland and now I love it. I just get a way better feeling listening to songs about having fun and drinking with friends rather than rap songs.

And for all you country lovers, Florida Georgia Line's new album is really good. Check it out.
