Where to Mount?

Hey Newschoolers,

This has probably been asked before but where do i mount my skis. I am about 80kg and 180cm tall. I ski around 60% all mountain and 40% park, but i am getting into park more. I have armada el rey's, i was thinking of mounting them either at the recommend a cm or two back from center.

If you are gonna go that close to center, just mount them center. What do you mean as far as all mountain? Moguls, trees, groomers...... center is better / indifferent for pretty much anything but pow imo, but I even center mount my pow skis.

Thanks, by all mountain, i mean moguls, groomers, a bit of trees. I have done some research, and a lot of people say that 2.5 back from center, what do you think??

In my opinion, if you are going within 3 cm of center just go all the way. You won't notice that much of a benefit for all mountain. I just enjoy skiing center alot more, especially in moguls. You have more tail to help you recover if you get bucked. Plus the el rey still has a decent sized shovel at the tip to initiate turns and get some float. Do you know how far back recommended is on them?

You will feel the difference between 3 back and the center, I would go with 3 back, it will make a difference.

I asked armada and they recommended 2.5 back from true center, i think i might go with that, as am not really sure about true center. Thanks for all the help though +K

any other ski i would center mount but since the armada makes a ski that is not equally symmetrical, i would go at 2.5... armada skis have a little more weight in the back compared to a normal park ski but that makes it good for buttering and other shit like that. if u center mount them u might feel a little top-heavy...hope this helps man

in my shop for the most part of when i get asked this question i say do it where the manufacture says, its there for a reason, or 2 cm forward from where the manufacture recommends but it depends on the ski like i wouldn't say that on a bridge ya know, with your ski i'd say 2 cm forward is a safe bet but your call
