People who do graffiti in the woods

so today i go for a stroll at my nearest hiking trail: Cotton Hallow, Glastonbury, CT. everything is green and lovely after a few days of rain, and the Trout Brook was flowing high and fast. everything was perfect and i was really enjoying the walk since i had been away from home for 2 months and i missed Cotton Hallow dearly. but after walking around a sharp bend in the trail, i spotted a bunch of graffiti and tags high up on a popular cliff-jumping spot. i found it so awful and so frustrating that this beautiful place ive been visiting since i could walk now has a hideous, permanent, stain. it makes me wonder who has the nerve to deface part of something so majestic. one of my favorite things about Cotton Hallow is that besides the trail itself, the landscape appears very untouched by humans; it seems truly wild. of course, humans destroy nature all the time; strip malls, suburbs, and highways do a lot more damage to a forest than one kid with a can of spray paint, but the graffiti is like wounding and animal but not killing it. its cruel, has no benefit, and ruins a lot more than what was directly affected. now i need to go out of my way to buy a paint remover and spend my day tomorrow scrubbing at it instead of doing things i wanted to do. its just annoying, pointless, and rude, and i hope the members of NS have a little more sense of conservation than whoever chooses to do graffiti on a hiking trail.

Yeah likei am just starting and I've been tagging old cardboard and pieces of carpet in my garage. I may not even ever do anything where people can see it unless I progress enough to where people wil see it and respect it a little bit.

gangs must do a shitload of graffiti in their territories then (i wouldnt know) because 90% of the graff you see around that are just random names or even look slightly cool are pretty much guaranteed to not be gang graffiti. Gang graffiti is scrawlings on the wall just to mark drug turf and things of that nature. The white squares who make up these statistics probably consider graff crews to be gangs even though they are usually non-violent and not trying to make a profit off of crime

Honestly I think its pretty stupid and lame. Don't see how it keeps kids out of gangs at all. Kids who join gangs are either forced eg. born in the hood and if they don't there just gunna get the shit kicked out of them all the time. Or little faggots who think its cool. Sorry but running around with a can of spray paint isn't going to stop that.


Secondly Nothing pisses me off more then litter/graffiti/anything man made in nature. Nothing worse then being all one with nature and all of a sudden there's a bunch of beer cans, or some garbage. Pack it in Pack it out simple as that.

the QBC is queenscliff board riders club it comes and goes, its kinda just a stamp of who surfs there board rider clubs are a big deal here. the heart has been around for a while, its something that is kinda out of the ordinary i guess and full of community. the local council tried to remove it and so many people complained.

its funny that you can get mad at the graffiti on the pillar instead of getting mad at the fact that there is a huge fucking cement pillar in the middle of a swamp/clearing. Tagging rocks is lame, but im down with stuff like this

I don't know if your trolling but I can tell you that is simply not true, my city (Chicago) has some amazing street art.A lot of street art/ murals are legal when the property owner lets them paint. All the spray paint within city limits is locked up in a case inside the store,and they won't sell any to under 18's.

this landscape is already ruined because they put a giant fucking bridge in the middle of it. Granted the graffitti doesnt add anything to it but its already ruined. And some dudes turf is right there he tagged pretty badass spot to claim haha

It's funny because technically anything can be art, as long as society goes along with it. A pretty damn good example is Fountain by Duchamp, you are going to tell me that because a guy flipped a urinal upside down and signed R.Mutt on it that it is art? I mean it is accepted as such but personally I don't really see anything artistic, yet it is in a museum while people who have been working on handstyles, tweaking and perfecting for years aren't recognized as artists. Even if they have certain artistic skills when it comes to said tags.

But back on topic, I have to admit that I personally don't like things in nature, unless they fit, like on some concrete wall in the middle of no where along a walking path, or large train bridges that are in wooded areas.

Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. Either way that's private property and in my eyes, over the line. My point is that just because "insert hardass here" doesn't like something someone spraypainted in an alley or on a wall, doesn't mean it should be illegal. What should be illegal is pointless defacement.

People should not be aloud to do it on other peoples stuff. This problem has nothing to do with tolerance or interpretation of art. It's about destroying thing you don't own and cause financial damage to normal business and property owners as well as public property paid for by everyone's taxes. It's totally inappropriate and people deserve to get fucked if they do it in an unsanctioned manner. It's such a diversion to pretend people's problems stem from not considering graffiti "art"

i was hiking in the Adirondack park yesterday when some punks threw glass bottles smashing them off rocks and me and my friend yelling " run nig@#r run" i decided to check the sign in thing at the trail head, turns out to be someone i knew of and called him out on facebook. We ignored it at the time but also saw their car and let air out of the 2 back tires. fuck scumbags.
