Replying to Problems with Geartrade.com
I was wondering if anyone has dealt with gear trade in regards to a return. I purchased a pair of ar7s which i got for $150. they said that they were used and are good condition. I asked the seller, backcountry, if the skis had any rail damage and they said, "there are no signs of rail abuse on these skis." When i got them i checked the edges and bases and there were 10 edge cracks and 1 almost pull out on one ski and 5 edge cracks on the other ski. I saw this and i immediately wanted my money back since they did not tell the truth of the skis condition. Right now i am trying to return these and they are slow to respond. they told me to email pics of the damage so that they can talk to the seller, backcountry, about the problem. I sent the pics but no response. the email troubled me:
Thanks for the email. I am very sorry to hear about the skis. As per our
normal procedure, I'd be happy to negotiate a partial refund, or a returns
authorization if you'd like to return them. Before we do that though,
would you mind just shooting me a photograph (low res is ok, as long as I
can see the damage) of the worst damage on the skis? We'll be passing
the images off to the seller so they can hopefully start listing things a
little more accurately.
Does anyone understand the partial refund?
I read their terms and conditions and it says that there is a 3 day window of which a return can be processed. Has anyone dealt with this situation or something similar?
